| Thought I would share this... If anyone has had similar sensations, please post. Not sure if it's entirely an effect of mj smoking, but there seems to be a strong correlation. I only smoke about 4 or 5 times a year now...here's why... About 3 to 5 days after a moderate session, my head begins to feel like a balloon - pressurized. There is 'tightness' in the sinus, temples, ears, and forehead regions. I also get these popping and crackling sounds in my ears and head ...loud enough for someone else to hear. Sometimes my temple muscles twitch. This is accompanied by a sort of foggy, dazed mental state. It's not really painful, just annoying. All of these symptoms can last, on and off, for months. It could be a reaction to something else, but it is most pronounced several days untill about 2 weeks after smoking. During and the day after a session, I don't experience this. Maybe it's related to the body's elimination of THC metabolites. |

| I can vouch for the fact that marijuana raises your blood pressure, and thus I too have felt pressure in my head when high. I consider it part of the high feeling. However, if these sensations last for months as you say (or even days after you smoke), then I would say that is not normal, you may be at risk for an embolism or a stroke or something nasty. I would definitely have it checked out by a doctor, and I would probably do that before you smoked again. If you don't have a doctor you can trust, then get one, because there are plenty out there that respect doctor/patient confidentiality who you can tell about your marijuana use without fear.

| ...no accidents or injuries. I do think I will seek a doctor about it though...to be on the safe side. |

| This is almost exactly what happened to me, except that it was much worse because I was a daily smoker. After smoking my nose would get stuffed up, my sinuses would get blocked, and my ears would feel "full". Because the sinuses never had a chance to ventilate properly, I'd end up with a sinus infection. My doctor told me that I had your everyday nasal/sinus allergy to marijuana, like hayfever from ragweed. If I wanted to get rid of the sinus infections I'd have to either quit smoking or take antihistamines. I can't take antihistamines, so I quit smoking. After several years I grew out of the allergy. If it turns out that you're allergic to marijuana, antihistamines have improved greatly since those days. The good ones don't make you sleepy or feel like your brain is stuffed with cotton. I imagine you could find an allergist willing to give you a desensitization series for marijuana as they do for other allergies.
