Default Can roaches go bad?

I had trouble deciding whether to post here or in Methods, but mold is probably more of a safety issue.

My question is: can roaches go bad? Like, really, really old roaches (1yr+)?

I'm expecting a dry spell soon for the first time in a few years but I've been saving my roaches, and I have literally hundreds of them. Whenever an ashtray gets full I pick them out, zip lock 'em, and stick in a drawer. Occassionally I'll smoke a roach doob out of fresh ones (when I want to P.O. my neighbors) but the vast majority feel totally fossilized.

Can the ganj in roaches grow mold or does the resin protect it? Do I have anything more to worry about than the stench and having a cough the next morning? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

I don't see why you couldn't smoke them, but expect it to be harsh and burn funny, unless you open them, and smoke them out of a pipe

Over time, the THC in roaches will oxidize into non-psychoactive compounds, just as it will in fresh marijuana. Roaches usually aren't wet enough to support mold.

Old roaches will be less potent, but they won't hurt you. They'd be more likely to put you to sleep.
