| I heard from a friend that smoking stem is /really/ bad for you. o.o Like, I understand that it isn't nearly as good (not that any smoking is good) as smoking bud, or leaf, but it's not going to kill me is it? There's no toxins or anything that isn't in the bud that's in the stem...? Just wondering because he(friend) smoked some bud, then lit up the stem that was left and got really really sick. Like, so sick that he puked himself to dry leaves. I've smoked stem before, but only a tiny tiny bit, and I basicly just smoked the little crystals on it, not the entire thing. I didn't feel anything accept a dry throat... I know this is a pretty lame exuse for a thread, but I had to ask. It's bothering me and I need a somewhat more experienced veiw on the matter.

| No there are not any bad toxins in the stems that could kill you or make you sick. But it is basically pointless to smoke the stems because they have little to no thc in them. Your basically smoking wood. Stick to just smoking the buds. |

| There's little, if any, THC on the stems. You're essentially just smoking a woody-like substance (mainly cellulose I assume). The dry heaving could have been from the marijuana though, some people just throw up anyways and have dry heaves regardless.

| if you want to do something with your stems, there are two things that i do: 1. chew on them. not sure if this really does much at all, but it can be fun when high. 2. save them. i throw it in the butter for my cookies (along with other weed, just a bonus more or less), or throw it in with other weed for thc extraction. this only applies to stems from good weed by the way. i used to smoke trainwreck, and in the cannabible 2 it has a picture of a magnifyed trainwreck stems. there are definately trichromes (sp?) on there. so it can really add some thc if you want it to.

| /checks his Cannabible 2, page 168 Yup! Some nice juicy trichomes on there. My question though: is the magnification of the actual stem, or the tiny stems where the bud forms around? |
