| I have a slight case of Asthma but just started smoking recently and now when I'm active playing sports my lungs actually feel a lot more open. For those of you who have smoked for a while and have asthma has it helped or hurt you after a while. I tried to do a search on this but their seems to be conflicting evidence on both sides. thanks guys... |

| There is evidence that suggests that THC acts as a proficient bronchial dilator. Here is a link to an article that supports this claim. Isn't Mother Nature a wonderful provider?

| Yes, marijuana is a good bronchial dilator, but smoke irritates the passageways, causing the tense feeling at the beginning of the session. Smoking marijuana could possibly do more harm than good. If you are interested in using marijuana for treating asthma, try vaporizing it or eating it. Besides being more healthy, they also can potentially be more stealthy. Furthermore, a well-designed vaporizer can be shared just like a pipe, joint, or bong. |

| As far as I know, smoking can have both positive and negative effects for asthmatics. Asthma can be caused by weak bronchial walls that sometimes collapse, causing an attack. Smoke can irritate the brochial walls, causing them to inflame and initiate an attack. Long term exposure to smoke, however, hardens the air passageways, which could lead to fewer attacks. In fact, a little known prescription for asthmatics are belladonna leaf cigarettes, which are bronchio dilators as well. I'm pretty sure that they're the only drug that is actually prescribed to be smoked (except medical mj, which isn't actually prescribed). So far as personal experience goes, I had mild asthma up until my mid teens, but it cleared up before I first tried marijuana. A vaporizer is certainly a cleaner option (I love mine), but, as stated above, the smoke itself might be beneficial, so you might want to investigate a little further before you make up your mind. Peace.

| I think you're going to get a lot more anti-asthma benefit out of marijuana if you don't smoke it. Vaporizers are the way to go. Besides eliminating the irritation of smoke they make your stash go a lot farther. In that way they pay for themselves very quickly. Vapes can cost anywhere from $10 to $500. The low end is a glass tube that you put weed into and heat with a lighter. The problem with them is lack of temperature control. By the time you get it hot enough to start releasing vapors you're a few seconds away from combustion. Up from there is a conduction-type vape (?$70). With those you put the weed on an electric heating element inside a glass globe. You suck the vapors out of the globe through a tube. The problem with them is, again, temperature control. The weed in contact with the heating element easily gets too hot while that not in contact doesn't get hot enough. Up from that is a convection-type vape (?$130). With those you suck hot air through the weed, a much more efficient setup. The high-end vapes are convection machines with additional bells and whistles. I've had a VaporBrothers convection machine for several months. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread: much better high, no lung irritation, and the weed goes at least twice as far. It's paid for itself twice over in the money I haven't spent on replenishing my stash.

| i have asthma myself, i find that smoking only makes it worse if i use a pipe or joint, when i use a bong it makes it better tho, i think its just the burning that comes from using joints or pipes, and since bongs are my preferance anyway it works out for me and helps my asthma |

| does anyone know if the knife hits would be ok? I mean the knife hits by, letting two knifes heat up under a stove top coil then smothering the weed to make it smoke.

Not talking about hash, either, just pure organic leaf and flower bud, but cured to perfection. That is extremely important. By these standards, the benefits are entirely in the user's side, rather than on the side of the one trying to make a profit. But that is supposed to be why there are medical grow ops in existence. But that is the boat most people are stuck in anyway. So get a vaporizer immediately ! | ||
