| i need some help, i start my new diet in a week. but i dont wanna quit smokin. i usually come home right after school and toke a little then jus chill out for the rest of the night. but with my new diet (i gotta get in shape for wrestling season) i dunno how its goin to work out. i gotta lose some weight but whenever i smoke i eat. should i jus eat healthy things or what? any suggestions? |

| Try to eat whatever you plan on eating -before- you smoke. I've known a lot of people to beat "the munchies" by just planning out the timing of meals and smoking. |

| Yep, if you eat before you smoke then you don't get the munchies so bad, so my friends tell me. I don't get the munchies when I smoke, kind of wierd I think.

| Just resist the munchies a few times, and its likely that you won't get them. The routines you engage in while stoned can become habits, and eating is no exception. Pot is a tool: you can just as easily use it for getting in shape as you can for relaxing. Instead of sitting around chilling and snacking, try exercising. You said you wrestle, right? Try finding a workout buddy who smokes. You guys can have a few tokes, then train for a couple hours. Have some water and Gatorade on hand, maybe a Red Bull or a Power Bar, or whatever you like. My friends and I use pot this way for martial arts practice. Sativa strains are usually the best for excercise; its easier when you're high rather than when you're stoned. Anyway, pot can be great for strengthening your mind-body connection, as well as boosting your metabolism so you lose more weight. It might be a hard transition to make if you're in the habit of lazing around after smoking, but it'll become second nature sooner than you think. Peace.
