Hey all,

A little backstory...Im 20 now and first tried smoking at around 15. I smoked a lot when I first started, but I over did it and it made me depressed, so I quit. From ages 15-19 I smoked maybe a few times a year...hardly any at all. I just started smoking again, thinking that since I'm more mature now I can fully "appreciate" it and moderate it and have been successful doing both! I'm on friendly terms with this stoner and I get my pot through him. I suspect he pinches a little, but I dont mind. Anyways...how can I tell the quality of weed I am getting? I just dropped $45 on a cut (probably closer to 3 grams). There are decent sized nugs, maybe the largest measuring around an inch and a half. However, the weed doesn't smell too strong...it actually smells very mellow. Is this an indicater of quality? I'm not going to get to smoke it until tomorrow and am just curious of how to judge quality for future reference. I know that for $45 a cut I should be getting some pretty good weed. However, since I've only been back into smoking about a month (and I'm sure I've been smoking fairly low/moderate quality) I'm not sure how to judge the quality! Ive been thinking about ordering some from this site that I've heard good things about...but I still can't get over the risk factor involved. So any help on how to identify quality weed would be great!

Well, the best way to test the quality is to smoke it

But, If you look closley at the weed, You should see some crystals, How many crystals you see may indicate the quality of the weed. ( Not entirley accurate, but it gives u a general idea)

The smell of weed doesnt always determine the quality, I've smoked some really good weed that barely smelled at all. But when weed smells really good, it hints that its decent weed.

What area do you live in though? 45$ for 3 grams is a lil pricey. I know its different all over the place, from what I've seen from what other people pay on this forum, its about 40-60$ for a quarter oz (7 grams)

But the only real way to know if its quality weed or not, is to smoke it.

I'm from the pittsburgh area, but I go to college a couple hours away from there. I know Im paying a premium for my weed now...I'm hoping I can find a good, reliable "contact" in the future. I don't mind paying a lot for weed, I'd just like to get what I pay for.

BTW, thanks for the response to my post. There are some crystals on the nugs and it's looking pretty good. I'm excited to smoke it

40-60 for a quater oz. sounds GOOD to me! I know I'm paying more than I should...I've considered mail ordering...but I'm still not completely sold on it.

well im from the philippines man and... when i judge quality it has to be the stickiness of the stuff.. the smell not so much... if it is sticky thats good weed.... man weed down your end is expensive!!!! whew!

In western australia we have a set price of $AU75 for a qtr, regardless of quality. That equates to around $US50, so it sounds about right.

Usually the weed will look amazing compared to other stuff you smoked, lots of crystals so that it sticks to your finger, if it does that its good ****. 50 bucks for an 1/8 ,3.5 grams seems normal but most people who have a reliable dealer get an 1/8 for 45 or a quarter for 60, but those are really good prices.

well here in the philippines 50grms is around 2000 pesos... thats about 35$ US

hey i think its out of topic if we talk about prices here... anyway about quality- "sticky dope are the right ones.".. but again it still depends on the user..and ones tolerance...
