Right. I'm relatively new to smoking cannabis and quite recently I purchased a quarter and have been taking small sized hits from a homemade penhitter. All was well for awhile but only just last night I smoked a great deal more than I'd smoked up to that point and it seems as if I'm paying for it with some unfortunate negative side effects. I'm high after about fourteen hours now. Light-headed, unable to concentrate, distorted sense of perception &c.. To be perfectly honest it's a little terrifying. I've done a little searching through the forum and have recieved a few different responses as to what it could be. I wonder if you, the good members of this forum can quell my fears on the subject. Should I just wait it out? Or should I pay my doctor a visit? The second option isn't as favorable. It would most probably involve some explanation to my father. Absolutely any input is greatly appreciated.

Some would pay good money for bud like that. Not everybody is the same though. I would think try a hot shower, sweat it out, and get a good nights sleep and a big breakfast in the morning. :spark:

Chances of it being laced are very slim. Just wouldn't be profitable for the dealer. And he's a good guy, mutual friend. I'm still feeling it though. The same fluid movement sense that comes with being high in addition to difficulty formulating coherent sentences and a distorted sense of space and time. Been a full nineteen hours now.

Sounds like my what i've went through my first time, not exactly the greatest feeling in the world but it is mostly in your mind, I was afraid to continue after I felt it but good thing I knew that it would end.

You're not high after 14 hours unless it was laced, or you have extremely unusual biochemistry. You are new, so you are probably just relating everything you're feeling now to being on pot. I'm tired right now, have some trouble formulating sentences, and I smoked almost 24 hours ago. Am I still high? Of course not, I'm just feeling normal human feelings again. A little sleep deprivation or low blood sugar will keep that 'high' feeling going. Also, for some reason, when I used to go to sleep high and wake up I feel very spaced out for the rest of the day. My friends feel virtually the same way. I, as well as most 'good' stoners, now stay awake until the high is gone. This can be VERY crucial into feeling clear the next day. Eat some food from all the food groups, make sure you've slept enough and get plenty of water and electrolytes. Make SURE you're not high before you go to sleep, and you should be fine.

The effect you experienced is very common among new smokers. The best way I can describe it is your body remembers what it's like to be high, even though you're not really high. I experienced this very same effect off and on for the first year I smoked. Since then it's come rarely, but it may still come occasionally if you smoke a lot at once, especially after having abstained for a while. Don't worry, it's nothing abnormal, and will go away with a little more experience. Enjoy the high!
