| ok when i work out while high i can row a 5k (meters) which should be really hard, relativly easily. with that said is it a bad idea to continue doing it because i cannot tell if i am pushing myself too hard or if i am usually just mentally weak and can handle doing it. im in good shape and after about five minutes after high or not i get most of my energy back |

| Back in the 1800s they said that the Black guys who loaded 500 pound bales of cotton on the river boats smoked marijuana so they could keep at it all day. I've never understood that because when I'm high I get exhausted much faster than when I'm not. I get dizzy and faint. Maybe that's psychological? I've never thought of marijuana as a performance-enhancing drug for sports, but if it works that way for you, go for it! If it hasn't hurt you so far I see no reason to expect it to hurt you in the future.

| aslong as your getting enough air and have someone near by and are in good shape then it shouldent be much of a problem to keep on rowing but you well want to have a longer recovery period |

| That's funny, because rowing a 5K on the rowing machine at the gym is my preferred method of exercise these days. I do go high often but sometimes go sober. Myself and many others on these forums (see thread Exercising High) have described how marijuana brings with it a more primal and energetic power to physical activity, and personally I do think that when I go to the gym high I am a little more tolerant of pain and I have a better focus on maintaining my endurance and discipline. So your experiences are not too unusual. But as you also alluded to, give yourself some more credit and realize that physically you are capable of doing just as much exercise sober as you can high, you may just have to motivate yourself a bit more when sober. But then sometimes I wonder, inhaled marijuana is supposed to be a bronchodilator, so maybe it does give a little extra tangible physical benefit when doing something aerobic like rowing. Either way, it's all good. Just don't ever let yourself talk yourself into believing that you need to get high in order to go the the gym and perform. Once you know what your body's capable of while high, you'll also know that you can achieve the same thing while sober if you just focus and know that you can do it. --This ABC after school special brought to you by Nabisko ![]() And by the way, anyone who knows HTML, what did I do wrong with the above code? I thought I'd get a link to the Exercising High thread. |

| I don't think it would hurt you to keep it up, either. Just remember to be aware of the important stuff, like your pulse and breathing, so you know if you're approaching your limits. Quote:
The proper way to make a link is to use vBcode: <url=http://www.marijuana.com/420/showthread.php?t=41453&highlight=exercising+high>E xercising High</url> Except use square brackets "[" and "]" instead of the angle brackets. You can find a guide on all the stuff you can do with vB code at the bottom left corner of any window on this site, or just click here.

just not sure why it's not a clicky link...i'd like to read that one personally...i'll try to do a search for it though. i used to go to the gym and i felt the same way...seemed like i was enjoying the workout more with the buzz on...however when i swim (for exercise purposes - lap swimming) i didn't dig that under the pot influence...not sure why. anyways i'll do the search... ![]() | |
