| Hello, I am a 19 year old college student who suffers from extreme joint pain and swelling. I have been using Marijuana successfully for the past year to control this and have been able to balance my academic schedule and marijuana usage without any problems. However, I am now experiencing the difficulty of being home for winter break without any marijuana. I usually smoke 2-5 times a day (only .15g-.25g each time), without any side-effects and in controlled environments. However, I feel that I may now (as I am away from my usual source) be experiencing psychological withdrawal symptoms from marijuana. This unnerves me a bit, I must say. I love marijuana for the ability to give me my mobility and function back again, but I have been suffering from cravings for it and headaches ever since I stopped. I don't like the idea of being dependent on any substance to live my life, and now feel as if I may have become so. I have not smoked marijuana for 3 days and hope that I am through the worst of it. I have tried breathing exercises and have ended up (sadly) smoking more cigarettes than I should. Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated, and I thank everyone reading this for taking the time to. All my best, viscoustoker |

| hi, your predicament sounds similar to mine, without the medicinal use, the first time i took a break (got caught) i quit for 2 weeks, during that time i experinced headaches and cravings, they stoped afer a few days, and since then i have noticed that i can quit for a few weeks and not feel any side effects, i think that once i relized that i could quit if i wanted to, the physcological addiction went away.....so my advice would just be to suck it up until you can toke again, then try maybe not smoking again and see if you still feel withdrawl symptoms

Join the club! I don't use marijuana for any medicinal purpose per se, other than I find it benefits me psychologically. I started smoking kind of heavy the past couple months at school, probably around 20-25 times a week. Now that I'm home on break, I've been high twice in the past week! I've been a little moody at times, but I like it and keep telling myself that it's good to take time off and being on break is a good excuse to. To lessen withdrawl in the future, you might want to start taking small breaks more frequently and not smoking quite as much. There is no reason to be high every waking hour of the day. I like to smoke, plan what to do (ex: spend a couple hours in the library, work out,) and get those things done. I then like to reward myself with another toke. This also keeps you looking forward to your smoke sessions and you will find you appreciate them more, opposed to it being the "norm". Just think how high you'll be next time you smoke! It's very good for you body to take a break. Try to keep optimistic about it. *sidenote: I'm away from my usualy source as well and I bought a cut of the schwagist schwag for $30 my first day of break. There are no fewer than 30 seeds in my bag and mucho stems. I realize the importance of smoking good herb! ( I say smoke, but I mean vap, or a vap/smoke combo). | |
