| Hi everyone. I'm currently on klonopan, zoloft and wellbutrin for depression and panic disorder. Ive read a number of articles and threads regarding the differences between indica and sativa plants. From what I can gather it seems a strong indica may be beneficial to me(with high CBD to THC ratio).Ive smoked before(with lots of panic attacks). I'm not sure how I would feel on an indica. When high,my body feels heavy and numb.My sense of breathing shallows and heart races(obviously). Also, when I initially inhale,I get the "oh crap,no going back now!" or "I changed my mind, let me off the ride!" feeling...I lose control of how I feel and it seems that is most bothersome. Now would the indica add to further the discomfort or reduce?Do ALL varietys increase heart rate? Any advice would be helpful.I know I may need to grow my own to get the proper kind.

Indica's are usually more commonly encountered than Sativas, at least in my experience. this is possibly due to their smaller, "short and squat" size, making them more desirable for indoor growing. The effects you have mentioned can easily be brought on by either sativas or indicas. Heart rate, also in my experience, tends to rise with both varieties. Although I'm not 100% sure, it may be that you simply aren't cut out to be a toker, no matter what the variety. I've known many individuals who occasionally respond similiarily to you, and the type of weed involved usually isn't a deciding factor. Depending on your location, its quite possibly you HAVE been smoking a potent indica already.

If you are under treatment for a panic disorder I'd think smoking marijuana would be the last thing you'd want to do since it often induces panic in people who don't suffer from panic problems.

I suffer from panic an anxiety. I smoke about every day. I started smoking pot before my initial illness had started though. When it started, I stopped smoking pot, and started smoking cigarettes. I finally put mouth to bong again, and freaked out. I tried it again the next day, and convinced myself that it was being panicy and anxious was just a "pit-stop" on the road to uphoria. Now, so long as I smoke in small doses, I'm perfectly fine. I can't usually tell weather I'm smoking indica or sativa, but sometimes when I smoke, I experience no panic at all, and just assume that I've gotten a hold of a good indica strain. Remember though, I can't promise that indica will provide a good experience for you, nor help in treatmeant of your panic. I've never been perscribed any kind of depression or anxiety medicine except for klonopins, but I was given a non refilable perscription for only 15 pills. They helped me sleep when I was anxious.

I experimented last night. I took a minute to breath deeply and relax(you really dont know how tense you are until you try).I put on a family guy episode and took one very small hit...warm,safe and comfortable in my room ...I'm still ok.5 minutes later I took another.I felt my H-rate increase, but focused on breathing deeply from the stomach...then I enjoyed a nice buzz. My situation seems very cognitive as far as my attacks go.I seek assurance for smoking and it seems to have helped."No,no one has ever died from cannabis" "its one of the safest substances known to man" e.c.t. talk helps tremendously.I found it important to not dwell on what if's and my fears(like, will I vomit, did I inhale too much will I have a seizure e.c.t). In reality my fears are unfounded...I enjoy being high.I fear the panic itself. To Buzzby,I should clarify what I said about indicas.I do feel heavy and numb, but the distress is panic induced discomfort. I will continue to use very small amounts in hopes to conquer this illness.I must admit, government and authority scare tactics have worked successfully on me,creating nervous apprehension. P.S sorry for rambling.I was just wondering, would a vaporizor or pipe(glass/metal) allow me more control of dosage and would the buzz/high be clearer? Thanks for reading.Hope everyone had a nice holiday!

A vaporiser would be a good idea. You can smoke much slower, let the high settle in, and get a much "clearer" mind high, is thats what your looking for. I've also heard that you get a larger CBD to THC ratio, as you mentioned you're looking for.
