Default moderation is key?

ok well, a couple of weeks ago i had an episode which im pretty sure was just being really stoned, but even knowing that i still wanted to cut down from smoking 5 times a day to actully barley smoking at all, maybe once a week, well after the little problem i had i stopped cold turkey for 2 weeks, which was kinda hard because i had been dependent on it for eating and sleeping and even making certain activites more exciting ( skateboarding- music) those 2 weeks werent as bad as i thought, with a small craving every now and then. it was easier then i thought. well after 2 weeks i took a few hits from the vaporizier with my friends. and decided then and there i was gonna keep my promise and smoke once a week. i didnt enjoy feeling burnt and tired all the time. if seen people say moderation is key, so i took the advice and smoke on occastion, never just to do nothing. my question is do you think i can smoke once a week and not have the short term memory loss and all that burnt stuff. cause as i said i read people said once u get all the canibonods and all that stuff out of your system your back to normal again. can i smoke once a week and be as if i stopped all together. rather then how i was in the past smoking 5+ times a day

Absolutely. I mean, you're still going to have short-term memory loss WHEN you smoke, but when you're not smoking you should have no effects, no memory loss, no burnout, no sleepiness, or anything else that you might have experienced from smoking 5+ times a day for a long time.

Everything I've experienced myself and everyone I've talked to about the subject (including many people on here whose sum of knowledge far exceeds mine) says that any side effects of smoking and/or tolerance dissipate within a few weeks of not smoking. Once you get your tolerance down, if you smoke just a couple of times a week I don't think you'd have any side effects at all.

It's no different than any other drug, really, in that regard. If you have a beer or glass of wine once in a while with a meal or on the weekend, doesn't hurt anything, it's actually good for you. If you stay drunk all your waking hours, it doesn't take long for extremely negative side effects to start emerging. Likewise, taking pain medication for an injury doesn't do much other than take the pain away and give you slight euphoria, but if you keep yourself doped up on pain medicine 24/7, yes before long you're going to be a little bit loopy.

Marijuana is the same way. People who don't know how to moderate their usage and end up being stoned all their waking hours, have to deal with the consequences of their choice. Most of us here on this board, though, seem to have found a balance between enjoying marijuana medicinally or recreationally, while still being a quasi-productive member of society and being able to achieve in life and accomplish personal and professional goals.

I've had one toke in 6 weeks....y'all should be proud of me But seriously that "burnt out" feeling is gone...replaced by a 34 weeks pregnant burnt out feeling (which let me say the weed burnt out one is WAY better...might have been tired and whatnot but didn't need 12-14 hours of sleep a day). But the short term memory thing...i'm still scatterbrained but not nearly as forgetful. All in all...it'll be worth it that first night i can get baked...i'm guessing that even though i've been smoking for 10+ years now, after quitting for so long it'll be like being in highschool again...just minus the screaming parents and the cut slips
