I'm 18 and doing a paper for my school psychology class on marijuana and was wondering if pot was addictive? I've read alot of government sites that say it is and I was wonerdering if someone would give me a site that dosent and also give me their opinion

Everyone is different...but to me it is not addictive in the sense to where I need it to function or enjoy my life.

It's addictive in the same way as a chocolate chip cookie or a fun videogame. I just went from smoking herb daily to not smoking herb at all over the past 5 days. I haven't felt a overwhelming need to smoke herb at all during that time. Cigarettes however, if I go one day without smoking one, I start getting really stressed out and will smoke a cigarette the first chance I get. That is the difference between a psychological addiction and a physical addiction. Example.

Cigarettes: You feel a physical NEED to smoke them once hooked.

Marijuana: It's just really fun to do. People abuse it, just like how girls will eat chocolate to feel better, like a MMORPG player stays logged on tell the sun comes up, and like people who can't get enough of their favorite TV show. But, it's not the same as physical addiction. People want to do it, but they don't NEED to do it.

Started smoking pot when I was 11 or 12 yrs old, now 47 and still smoke daily. Addictive, maybe, will I quit smoking anytime soon.
