Hello, Currently on the forums, I am probably known as one of the teenagers that freaks out on weed and can't get over it. I'm sure some of you have seen it 1000 times. I have one question, and one question only: Should I smoke again to overcome this feeling that is fueled by a terrifying thought that marijuana changed me imensly? If you would like to know a little bit more about the situation I'm in, feel free to read the following two posts of mine: This post tells of the situation that I am in: http://www.marijuana.com/420/showthread.php?t=43645 This post gives my views on what actually has happened: http://www.marijuana.com/420/showthr...t=44662&page=5 I have been weed free for the last 4 months. These feelings still persist, but not as intense as I am tired all of the time from the meds. The fact is, if this is psychosomatic, then the cure must be psychosomatic also. In other words, if I keep believing that not smoking marijuana could be beneficial as marijuana really fucked me over, I never really recover. I need to identify marijuana as something that makes me happy, not crazy. I've never thought about marijuana as something that could have long-term physiological effects on me. I've always percieved marijuana as something that made me happy and more appreciative. Anyways, I would like to know if ANYONE has fallen into this situation before and how they recovered. I would like to know if they still smoke and if it helped for their recovery. Please feel free to post anything you have to say on the topic here.

Can somebody please give some input? I remember reading some peoples posts that said that when they smoked again, these feelings went away, and it probably all in their heads. Thanks, CB

| I cannot give you input on whether to smoke again or not, but I can suggest that you take a transcendental meditation course. I meditate and do Tai Chi Chuan and my life has taken a considerable change for the better. I'm more focused, more relaxed, and more in touch with myself and with my surroundings. I think that if you get into meditating you'll be able to relax your mind and learn to simply let the thought of your problem go. You did mention a number of times that it was psychosomatic; well, meditation is a psychosomatic solution. Meditation allows you to clear your mind, and let go of all negativity, relaxing your mind, your spirit, and your body. It may take a few sessions and a few times practicing to get back into reality, but I think that you'll find you'll be able to come back into the world. As for the weed, I suggest you abstain while you look into meditation. Then after a few weeks, or a few sessions, you can consider whether you want to try smoking pot again. You may not want to, and that's totally fine, in fact I would encourage that. Marijuana is great for most people, but not for all people. Some people just don't like it, some people seem to be adversely affected by it, somewhat like you. So think about it, meditate, and make some choices. What ever you decide, make sure that you feel it's the right decision, and may the Force be with you.

Dude I was in the same situation now I'm fine. There are 6 things you must do. 1. Take one hit of weed daily, get your tolerance up and make the experience of weed seem fun again or relaxing 2. Workout everyday 3. Keep yourself busy, (work or school) 4. Don't think about your situation, everything in life changes, things will get better 5. Cut nicotine/caffeine down a bit. 6. I know this one sounds weird but eat 5-6 smaller meals a day

If you were terrified of spiders would the cure be to jump into a vat of spiders? I would give a high probability that an experience with marijuana when you are feeling that marijuana has had serious negative effects on you would produce a full-blown panic attack. These effects are almost certainly a function of your imagination, so you want to rein in your imagination, not let it run. You want to ground yourself, not open your mind to a million possibilities out of which you'd probably focus on the most negative. Quote:

Thank you for the input. As you may think the medication may be helping me right now, however it is actually doing the opposite. I'm on 20 mg of Lexapro and 5 mg of Abilify right now. These meds make me feel as if I'm in a mental straight jacket. I took the SATs, and scored much lower than my predicted score. It's safe to say that meds, in general, put limits on your mind. Jedi, do you know of any natural, herbal medications that have very limited side-effects that would help to relieve anxiety? Jordan, did this truely work for you? If you don't mind, please tell me your story. Buzzby, marijuana has always been a pleasant drug for me. It has helped me to be more appreciative and has relieved stress and anxiety. This was just one bad experience. I didn't panic while on the drug, at all. I started to worry after still being high for 2 days, after which I started to research and convinced myself that I was a schizo. As I said, if it is psychosomatic, which it is, then the cure must be also. In my earlier posts, you can see that 5 days after smoking and feeling high for those previous 5, I smoked again, and knew, for sure, that the symptoms were going to go away, as advised by my friends. I woke up, and felt completely normal. It was the next time I smoked, I started to worry that this feeling may return, which it did because of my worry. It is crucial that I must believe in my treatment. Thanks again, CB

Your in the exact same situation I were/are in. I'm recovering, but still got a hard time enjoying weed. As soon as my "state of mind" change to being high or stoned, I start freakin' out, thinkin' this is how it is to go crazy. It's kinda like what you said, I also found weed the best thing that had ever happend to me for 2years. Smoked it 24/7. Then after I started getting panic attacks, it just changed completely. It's all in your head, but you gotta KNOW that, fill your life and be able to function WITHOUT weed, before you can go back... Tell me if you find some miracle cure, i'd be very interested=P

How are you right now? How often do you smoke? What has been the longest time that you have gone without smoking? How long have you been feeling like this? I know being on these forums really fuels it. I just want one question answered. My parents are totally against it (obviously), however, my psyc things that it will trigger a panic attack, which I really have never had while high. Again, input is appreciated. Thanks, CB

CB, You may want to take a look at what the Buddha had to say about the effects of one's mind on one's state of being. You can read a translated copy of it here: http://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/dhamma/dham-hp.htm I found that incredibly interesting and useful. The mind is a powerful, psychosomatic tool to improving one's situation. Improve it, and one's experience improves as well. Enjoy.

Well until yesterday I hadn't smoked since 4/20, thats prolly the longest I've ever been without weed. Now I won't puff until my birthday 5/23. I had some real potent skunk yesterday and were drunk as fuck so I got a pretty bad experience when I had to walk 3 miles home in the dark, paranoid as fuck. Hehe, in the beginning I was in fullblown panic all day long for 3 months, worst tie in my life. I've recoverd a lot, but sometimes when I'm under the influence of any drug I'll freak out and just think I'm going crazy, things seem so surreal etc. It's fuckedup.
