| has anyone ever got sore places in thier throat area from smoking weed..i have friend who says he is sore on one side more than the other. He won't go to a doctor and have it checked out.....i sometimes get some soreness from time to time from smoking to often,,just wondering about all you out there..thanks

| Yes, I think the hot smoke iritates the tissues in the throat. Try using a water pipe to cool the smoke. |

| If he is getting irritation on one side or the other, and has not had his tonsils removed, it could be that the ash/resin/heat combination is irritating one or the other tonsil causing inflamation (tonsilitis). An inflamed tonsil can get infected as well as the throat which can be anything from uncomfortable to downright nasty (streptococcus) Anyway, I would suggest the old methods of drinking warm tea and honey to sooth the throat, gargling with warm salt water to clean the throat, and stay away from the smoke for awhile until his throat heals. An infectionin the throat can turn nasty quickly (ear infections, lung infections) and just dulling the pain so he can keep smoking is a major no no ![]() Tell him to see a doctor if the throat does not get better in a week or if the symptoms worsen. If he develops a fever or a cough he will need to see a doctor without delay, those are warnings of a serious infection and require immediate medical action. Hope he feels better soon | |
