I heard a lil bit back that from using springers over a long term you can get lung cancer. I was just wondrin what everone elso thought about this.

I'm sure you all know what a springer is but for those that don't seeing as it maybe a melbourne slang i'll explain. A springer is a home made bong which is made by the traditional hose in the side of a bottle and a cone piece in the hose with the optional shotty but you fit a long plastic tube over the neck of the bing to make a longer neck and also make it harder to get splashed.

Do you have any information on how it would cause cancer, the mechanism that would induce a cancerous growth? And what types of cancer?

I don't see how that would cause cancer anymore than smoking any other way would, which marijuana has never been linked to cancer.

the method of use, the bong, would not cause cancer anymore than other smoking methods. I think this is another Marijuana myth.

This is slightly off topic, but I don't think cannabis causing cancer is that unprobable. The reason that no cancer has been linked to it is that many people who have been smoking weed for the last 30-40 probably also smoked cigarettes. However, when you consider that many smokers have several cigarettes per day, that is considerably more smoke than almost all marijuana smokers would inhale, so it's not likely to cause cancer. I wouldn't go saying it is impossible though. Smoke is never good for the lungs.

Good point BD. I know that it is very probable that marijuana can cause cancer, but I also know that there has never been any substantial evidence. If it does, the risk is a lot lower than with tobacco.

Wow i say ..... and im sure you say the same.... Cannabis the Cure to Cancer! This evidence says alot!.... hmmm i believe it too!

Nowounder why the goverment whats the eradication of it... I guess the gov. has put a price on a human life??
