Default bad effects on blood pressure?

first some background, ive been smoking marijuana now everyday for at least the past 8 years and the syptons below happen whenever i smoke although i never used to get these strange reactions. Also i could probably do with getting a bit more exersise im not totally inactive but am less active them i used to be.

for a while i have been experiencing strange symptoms these are pins and needles in the arms, chest and face a uncomfortable tightness in the chest although it isnt painfull it agitates me and i feel restless, while these are happening my heart can beat irregular and pulse is very weak, sometimes if i stay sat very still while this happens my whole body tingles but usually if i stand up and walk about after a few minutes it all subsides im wondering would this be a sign of bad circulation/low blood pressure?

thanks les

Those symptoms could be a sign of low blood pressure, but they could be a sign of lots of other things too, including coronary artery disease or cardiac arrhythmias. Are you sure this only happens when you smoke? If not, see a doctor for an examination and an evaluation. If it's only happening while you smoke, definitely abstain, unless you find it pleasurable, which I doubt.

thanks for the reply,

the symptoms above dont always happen when i smoke, thats just if i smoke alot, when i just have a small amount most of the time its just a tightness in the chest that happens although that in itself dosnt feel great.

it also can happen sometimes when i havnt smoked although very, very mild compared to when i have smoked and it does seem to stop completely if i dont smoke for a few days.

i think i may go and see the doctor, im a bit worried about telling him i smoke though.

don't worry about telling your doctor. they have those confidentiality things going on. it's better if you do. it will help with the diagnosis process. my doctor knows i've smoked all my life. i've been seeing him since i was like 7 years old. it's noted in my chart. exspecially since i've been prescribed anti depressants. it's all good. plus smokin isn't really that much of a big deal to most people anymore. most could care less. that doesn't mean go advertise it.

cheers mate, i think its just because i need to start being a bit more healthy, more exersise etc. cant see it being anything to serious as if i do play sports or strenuous(sp?) work i dont get any chest pain or anything like that just tires from being unfit.

Sounds anxiety related to me. Do you have trouble breathing or shortness of breath?

no not really i do become alot more aware of my breathing when its happening and try to breathe slow and deep but it dosnt really make a difference, as soon as i inhale the smoke my chest just tightens up and feels uncomfortable its not just recently either ive been putting up with it now for nearly 3 years and im just fed up of it now.

i really enjoy a smoke and dont want to have to quit but i really dont see any other answer, if i go the docs he's just going to say the same quit smoking.

No one seems to have brought it up, but I think it is important - has the quality of the weed you're smoking changed for the worse?

Maybe everyone here is assuming you are smoking the bomb chronic or something. I don't think you'd have any problem if it was a type of weed in that sort of category.

However it sounds like for about 3 years you have been smoking some low quality weed that produces a large enough quantity of non-cannabinoidal enriched smoke so thick that it is bothering the lining of your lungs. You can bet that if the weed is low enough quality, it is producing more unhealthy excess smoke than you want to be inhaling. You would be amazed at how much easier you'd breathe and how much relief you'd feel if you were inhaling the right type of weed smoke. With that said, the only real solution for you would be to switch to vaporizing so you can get the most out of what you're paying for, with the least amount of lung irritants that are obviously being created by burning the kind of weed you're getting.

Oh, if you're also prone to smoking tobacco or other harsh substances, then your problem is beyond the scope of this answer.

My guess is that a tight chest is much more serious than a little wheezing.

cheers for the reply mate, im fairly certain its not down to weed quality though as id say for the past year we have been getting the best stuff we have ever had, you probably know yourself when you smike it for a while you sort of build up the knowledge of who sells decent stuff and who doesnt so i can afford to be fussy.

i also dont smoke cigarettes and have cut down of my weed intake to just weekends and have so far stuck to it for the past two weeks and havnt really noticed any difference in the effects when i do smoke and i also seldom drink alcohol.

anyway i visited the doctor yesterday and she says as im not experiencing any adverse problems whilst exerting myself that the chance of there being anything physically wrong is small, she also listened to my lungs and heart and took my blood pressure all of which came back fine. in the end she says its likly to be down to anxiety and that the tingling when it gets bad is from overbreathing, she prescribed a course of beta-blockers called propranalol which she advised me to take them as required (i.e no need to take them every day) tried them yesterday and they seemed to chill me out a little so as i will be smoking tonight im going to try having one of these beforehand as after a little look around the web i havnt found any problems with mixing cannabis and beta-blockers.
