| I understand why we get cottonmouth, but is weed diuretic, does it actually draw water out of your body, cause increase in urine output, or rid water retention like alcohol would? |

| No, marijuana is not a diuretic. The cottonmouth has nothing to do with loss of total body water. It's simply a manifestation of autonomic tone shifting more towards sympathetic rather than parasympathetic dominace, which in turn tends to decrease salivation rather than enhance it. |
