Is MJ diuretic?

I understand why we get cottonmouth, but is weed diuretic, does it actually draw water out of your body, cause increase in urine output, or rid water retention like alcohol would?

No, marijuana is not a diuretic.

The cottonmouth has nothing to do with loss of total body water. It's simply a manifestation of autonomic tone shifting more towards sympathetic rather than parasympathetic dominace, which in turn tends to decrease salivation rather than enhance it.
