I used to smoke weed heavily for about 7-8 months, until one night I decided to roll a blunt and smoke it in my room while my parents were in the house. This obviously wasn't a good idea, after I had smoked it I got this strange and rather unpleasant feeling in my stomach, so I decided to lie in my bed and try to get to sleep. I then felt extremely anxious which made me panic. It felt like I could feel my heart pounding throughout my whole body, this was probably the most horrible feeling i've ever felt in my entire life. I have had two more panic attacks from smoking weed since that night not much long after the first, so then I decided to lay off the weed for a while. I haven't smoked it in six months, but I can still feel the tinyest amount of anxiety sometimes and I was wondering if I should start smoking again. I was wondering if anyone has had the same long term after effects of a panic attack that I have? And if anyone has, how long did it last?

Won't know until you try it again, but make sure you're in a secure, comfortable atmosphere where you won't be paranoid about your folks or anyone else.

I had a similar experience. I'd had a bad trip on LCD, and the next few times I smoked pot I'd suffer from panic attacks (heart pounding, shortness of breath, dizzyness). I also started having anxiety problems when I didn't toke. Took about 6 months for the anxiety stuff to clear up and I didn't smoke again for a year - but I've been toking 6 years since then and haven't any problems so don't worry too much, you will be able to smoke again!
