Default bad experience kind of.....

okay... so i didn't even take an entire hit...
and 7 minutes later i'm looking into the mirror and i start to feel very weird, dizzy, panicked... does weed *always* have this affect?..
because i've been diagnosed many times with having panic attacks and went into the doctors thinking i was dying.. i hate that feeling... and it's unfortunate if this induces that feeling..
i had to call my friend so that she could calm me down.. she's very experienced with marijuana.. and she told me to eat so i would come down very fast.. and it worked...
what do some of you do to deal with the dizzy feeling and feeling of going out of control.. i actually mostly worry about if someone is going to talk to me and i'm high kind of.. and unable to speak correctly and they'd find out..
i'm really afraid to smoke anymore.....
i don't know.

Talking

Panic attacks are usually connected to "the what if's"

what if this happens, what if that happens, ect, ect, ect

now smoking herb, we all know it incresses your heart rate, which is enough by itself to bring on a panic attack

I would advise that if you want to have a pleasurable smoking experiance

first you need to be "with in" your comfort zone (home or a close friends house)

now since this is a new experiance for you, dont over do it, a few hits, and make sure you have something fun to follow, IE: watch a movie, whatever just something you enjoy doing

I would really advise that you have a trusted friend pressent, only to keep you relaxed, occupied, and help you maintain control of yourself...its not that hard.

your state of mind at the time you wish to smoke is very important, as is where your at,

my best advise is to go slow and be relaxed , and make sure you are in a place that you are comfy with, let yourself go and enjoy it

hope this helps you, give it another try and let us all know how it goes

Your panic attack was purely psychosomatic. "Not even a whole hit" is not enough to do much of anything. You expected to have a panic attack and so you did.

First, I would like to point out that people react to any drugs in different ways. I have had a few smoke sessions when I was younger with girls who were new to smoking. A few times, I remember one of them getting disoriented and vomiting, and I believe this is not uncommon. It depends on many factors that you may be having problems when you smoke, such as your body weight and tolerance for example. But, the psychological factor is also included. I do agree with the other replies, if you think negatively, you are probably going to have a negative experience and this is one aspect you could pay extra attention to if you give it another run. Marijuana will raise the heart rate in any individual, my heart is pumpin' as we speak! It could also possibly bring out paranoid feelings (although I have never experienced these abnormal feelings). To help these disoriented feelings, if you continue to have them, I would suggest lying down, calming yourself down mentally, taking deep breaths in through the nose & out through the mouth, and of course, eating. You should be able to speak correctly while high, if neccessary, unless you are laughing uncontrollably or something of the sort. The problems typically come from redness of the eyes and the scent of marijuana on the clothes or body. I've had conversations with anyone from teachers to policemen while being high, keep your cool. Hope this helped you, if you have more questions, don't hesistate to ask.
