| Medical marijuana legislation got a hearing earlier today in New Jersey. You can hear the full hearing, including Montel William's testimony here: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/media/a...H&SESSION=2006 The hearing for the bill starts 15 minutes in. The pro medical marijuana side has some compelling testimony that they offered, yet it doesn't surprise me that the other side emphasizes the FDA process. Note that medical marijuana research has been blocked, making the FDA process for marijuana a catch 22. There is no way that medical marijuana can go through that process as long as the marijuana supply is not consistent and reliable. The University of Mississippi does not offer a consistent and reliable supply. Prohibitionists will use this argument throughout the hearing, either uneducated, or uncaring for the patients that are suffering. http://mpp.org/NJ/action/ Take action now! Later on, you will hear a direct attack on the Marijuana Policy Project and the Drug Policy Alliance. The person that makes this claim says that he was not using his "reasoning" ability when he supported the bill, but now let me tell you that his reasoning his in fact flawed. His argument runs that since these organizations support full marijuana legalization, this bill is flawed. Guilt by association is a fallacy. Whoever supports this legislation does not invalidate the arguments put forth in favor of it. Hopefully the committee realizes this. If you live in NJ, please contact the committee members and express your disgust with the prohibitionists that testified.
