there's no black and white answer to that. Depends on the person.
Use the Advanced Search feature to look for "Asthma" in the titles only. There is a lot of information out there for you to read.

Default asthma stipulations

You are asking a very broad question. A very broad answer is yes, it can be bad for you.

The devil is in the details, though, so to speak.

Most commercial pot is not good enough quality for this purpose. Many strains are not geared for this purpose but can suffice. Depending on quality, strength, and variety, smoking it may make a condition like this better, or worse.

If it is medicinal quality (in other words, the best that it can be), and the quality does not change for the worse then it can be more than effectively treated and possibly cured in some people.

No current research is being done on it that I know of, and none planned.

However with the tiny amount of anecdotal data and some other known medical facts, there has been enough data to be able to be said that the main ingredient of marijuana flower buds, THC, is the strongest all-natural bronchodiolator for the lungs on the entire planet Earth.

If your marijuana isn't doing this for you, it is a very good assumption it is not of the quality or caliber needed for this specific purpose.

What's up RL,
Is this a summation of data that you read somewhere or is it your statement? Seems like a very bold declaration, in light of very little evidence to support such a claim. But I'd be curious to know on what you're basing this claim...

I'd like to see some support for that statement. I've never heard of anything that could cure asthma. All treatments I've heard of are for symptoms and to prevent acute attacks.

Default Maybe certain strains...

Certain strains of marijuana help me with allergies, and other strains a friend who has asthma. While marijuana is a pretty good and long lasting bronchodialator (do a Google search and look for real research), I don't know that it's the best and the traditional smoke from a blunt or a joint may not help. If you must try, try it with a nice vaporizer, if you can get one.

I have asthma, and have not really noted any ill-effects, but my asthma isn't severe at all and i'm on preventative medication at the moment. As for the bronchiodilator claim, i've heard that before, but i've never noticed any positive effects. But it's tricky when you're surrounded by cigarette smoke and aer drunk/high. I think some strenuous research into this matter is needed! Any asthma sufferers care to join me?
