Unhappy I Quit Smoking Marijuana :(

I never understood how my breathing would deteriorate for a few days up until a month after a nice session. Although I have asthma, I find my lungs feel 'opened' after Marijuana, which is quite possible since there is evidence of it being a bronchial dialator.

But my breathing problems seem very different from an asthma attack - no wheezing or anything, it almost seems like my lungs are using the oxygen they get, it is just very hard to get it in my lungs. Right now it feels like I am being choked, there is noticeable pressure on my throat and upper respitory track. I also have a slight numbing right where my heart is (though it is probably just my lung).

I just got back from the hospital, and basically they said it is from smoking Marijuana, which I could have guessed.

I am a health-concious person, so I am not going to smoke Marijuana and more. I'll probably stick to baking with it, but on a less frequent basis due to the cost.

So... anyone else have problems with marijuana causing inflammation in the throat?!

I have considered giving it up for a bit due to many reasons. One big one is my lungs. Yea, you can eat it, but it isn't really the same...

Man... I don't know what I would do. I enjoy the effects of smoking, but I don't like the cough.

Smoking has some sort of social ritual attached... Tough to give up.

Keep up with the baking! You have any favorite recipes? (post in appropriate forum of course)

Yeah, Marijuana has become a big part of my life lately, it'll be missed greatly

I love baking, but it's not as efficient and convenient, although it is much more intense

Sorry about that bongzilla! I think it's a great idea to bake when you can though! I'm fortunate to have healthy lungs, i smoke cigs but i'll quit sooner or later before they make me sick.

I don't think you can have health lungs and smoke cigs at the same time...but I am in the same situation...I can tell that my lungs are dead compared to what they used to be when I was swimming. Sorry to hear about that Bongzilla, but good luck with your cooking!

I dunno... try using a vaporizer. That doesn't require you to inhale smoke. Good luck with the baking.

I kind of question the hospital, i mean it seems like a lot of people these days are fast to jump to the conclusion that marijuana causes problems. I'm sorry to hear it, but i wouldn't have told them i smoked marijuana unless they asked me,( maybe that's what you did) solely based on the fact that people like to use it as a cushion(sp?) of blame.

I also feel weird things in my lungs now that i've been smokin for a year or two. I can't breathe in the WHOLE way, or else i get a striking pain in my lungs. It feels like the smoke has attacked the end of the little branches, making it hard to breathe in completely.

I agree footlongfatty (nice name).

at least once a month my lungs feel how yall are explaining, occasionly sharp pains but wheezing. i thinks its cigarettes more than weed, but if i don't smoke any cigs/weed after a few days (more like a week or so) then i will start wheezing or cough a bunch, and can't breathe in completely, but then i get a hold of cigs or weed and it'll go away.

(i'm sure some of you are going to think *duh!*)
(i don't even like to mention my smoking cigarettes because it's stupid, but this thread is about lungs)

My vaporizer used to work, but now it affects my throat as well.

For the past two years, all my 'asthma' problems were all the same - tight throat/upper respitory tract which aren't associated with asthma. So the doctors would end up saying 'your probably having an anxiety attack' because they didn't get what I was saying.

And about the hospital, I told the doctor that I had smoked quit a bit on Saturday (anyone on the #420 chat would know lol) and that I was pretty sure that is why.

Default Closure :)

Although my last trip on Saturday was VERY intense and awesome, I thought that I needed a last trip/goodbye:

I loaded my pockets with about 1/2 ounce of some very nice bud, my pipe, and some sandwhiches/other food. Me and this nice girl I know went down to the ravine and smoked a lot. Then we just chilled by the little stream and ate some food and talked. Although I know it wasn't good for my health, I had to do it

So I came back to school high out of my mind, and all of a sudden I fell on the ground outside, and found a $5 bill. About two months ago, I was sitting in a little greasyspoon restaurant with a friend eating some good food. This man about 75+ appeared above my table, and stood there for a few long seconds, which made me a little uncomfortable. He started to talk, and pushed a $5 bill in my hand, saying 'don't worry about it, I'll take care of you today' and things like that. It was a pretty profound moment in my life - those random acts of kindness you only read about. Alright, I digress. So I see it on the ground, and that whole situation flashed.

Karma. That's what was going through my baked mind. So I stop right there, and took the rest of my bud and deposited in several dime bags (but I packed more than a dime in each one). I then wondered around talking to random people, and if I saw someone (who smoked and) who seemed like a good person, I just gave him/her a bag. I made sure that they weren't those 'yo yo what up my nigga' people that smoke for the cool factor; I wanted to find some genuinely nice people. I told them to do something cool to someone else, and to enjoy it.

Anyways, it was a good end to an era - sharing the goodness of marijuana to good people

And YES, at the end of the day people thought I was a little nuts, but the people who I talked to thought it was a good gesture. Met some good people today
