people often mistake thirst for hunger. the munchies could actually be thirst, possibly associated with cottonmouth or THC absorption. i am midway in an experiment to see if just drinking water and juice keeps off munchies.

Right on - I was just wondering about this the other day in a search for a way to try and calm the munchies. The more I thought about it tho, the less I think that it is just the thirst-hunger feeling and more something buried deep down inside...

every one comnplains about munchies, i never get them either do my friends, we have a glass of water or can of pop wherever we go, we usually eat somethin big right b4 we go to sleep, thats usually 4-5 hours after we smoke, but a liquid keeps us alive

Hmm, that really makes me think, but it may just be a combination, because its not just cottonmouth that i get, i can actually feel my empty stomach starving for food, but also my mouth and throat gets really dry, which is why i crave liquids as well.

You get both thirsty & hungry on weed. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that it's a diuretic, meaning it gets the fluids out of your body faster. I've also read somewhere that THC speeds up your metabolism in some way to where you get hungry.
