Hey guys I'm new here and I wanted to ask something. Ok I smoked weed for the first time in a while about two weeks ago, and I'm still feeling weird. Last night I guess iI fell asleep thinking of my lips going numb and then I woke up with them like that it was scary. But other than that I think my brain is kind of acting weird, like my vision is still kind of weird it takes me a while to know what I'm looking at but I still know what I am doing and looking at it's just weird I can't really explain it. Maby that weed was laced with something strong.I sometimes freak out too maby I just get paranoid too thats what I am just thinking. But if you can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

The effects you are experiencing are probably psychological. Marijuana acts differently on different people, so just chill out and the “strange” feeling will pass. If it was laced, which is probably was not, then find out from whomever you got the bud from. Remember, you have to pay extra for laced bud because its usually more expensive than straight bud.

I am going through something like this, 3 weeks ago it started when I accidentally inhaled some tape on a bong. Some people don't believe what I say and claim it is psychological, however I beg to differ. My symptoms have decreased gradually, VERY slowly, and things are still a little weird, all I can do is be hopeful that this will keep going away. What I can say is that the symptoms are very characteristic of being high. If you are familiar with what being high feels like, would you say your lingering effects are similar but to a much smaller degree?

If your symptoms are decreasing, then this could be psychological or physical, but either way, they are going away. If your mind is believing that you are returning to normal, or if its your body healing itself, you’ll be fine.

This sounds like the symptoms are psychological. Smoking tape would not cause the same high as marijuana would in any way. It seems to me as if you smoked marijuana, inhaled some tape as well, and then got paranoid about the tape which resulted in your thinking that you are still high because of the tape. Nonetheless, I believe there is already a thread about this.

Look dude I'm not making this up. After I passed out multiple times and came to my senses I was like "wow I'm glad I made it through that, everything's gonna be alright now" and I felt that way and looked forward to smoking more of the killer bud the next day. Only the high didn't wear off by the next day. There is no way I was imagining this. Things LOOKED DIFFERENT its not just me thinking "do I feel high?"

Okay: It was such a relief for me to find this site and read YOUR post, especially this line. I blazed five days ago, and am still feeling it. The same "I know what I'm looking at but it doesn't really hit me," and "Everything is foggy, spinny, I can't process information...." It's quite frightening. Anyway, I am no stranger to this pot-smoking bidness (though I hadn't smoked in about a week), and I've never had a reaction like this before. The economics of lacing pot aside, I considered the idea of there being some funky something in what we had. But none of the three other people I smoked with are feeling the same way, or anything odd for that matter. It's like I've been high for a week now, and, kids, that's no fun. I'm tired of hanging out in DISNEYLAND... I want to go home.

Marijuana doesn't keep you high for a week.

I can't think of any mind-altering substance that keeps you high for a week.

Therefore, the logical conclusion is that the effect is either permanent brain damage (which marijuana doesn't cause even in massive doses) or psychosomatic. Since none of your co-smokers have experienced a similar effect, I'd give it a 99.9% probability of being psychosomatic - all in your head. The 0.1% chance is that it's some sort of physical illness unrelated to your cannabis use. If the condition persists, see your doctor.

In no way did I assume that you were making this up. What good would that do you? I understand your concern but I am only taking what you’ve said and voicing my opinion. I am also not a medical doctor, I know virtually nothing about you, so what I say is not very short of a guess at the situation because I have encountered people similar to you in similar situations.

You say that there is no way you are imagining this, but this does not out rule the possibility of these symptoms being psychological. Let me explain.

Psychological: mental or emotional in nature, opposed to physical in nature.

All this means is that the root of the problem is in your mind rather than your body. The point is that the person experiencing the symptoms has no way of telling weather the problem is in their head or not. You cannot judge if what you are experiencing is psychological or not. In comparison, a schizophrenic person cannot tell the difference between reality and delusion, because both are perceived by the mind.

I will tell you what I know for a fact thought. Two things: One, smoking the adhesives and polymers found in tape will not result in the same high as smoking the tetrahydrocannabinol in marijuana.
