well I got to thinking, if smoking weed gives you the munchies and makes you hungry, couldnt it be used to cure anorexia?

i have thought the same thing. I have a friend that she is really skinny but she is not anorexic just really skinny. I have thought of asking her to smoke with me so she would eat and gain a few pounds. beacuse if she did gain a few pounds she would look awsome. hehehe ah i dont even know why i posted this. i want a girl to smoke to gain weight so she would look better?! whats this all about? i have to think with the right head......
but she would look great.......


if i find a anorexic chick i'll ask her to join me in a toking session. But since most anorexic chicks are also bulimic wouldnt the girl just puke all her muchies?

The anerexic person is already incredible hungry and after a while the hunger just turns into a kind of pain and having the munchies would prolably just make the pain greater. The problem isn't them not being hungry, it's their obsession not to eat. But maybe the person would mellow out and lose sight of their crazy thoughts and eat a bunch. I dunno.

Some form of anorexia, which is a catch all phrase used to desctribe a variety of eating disorders all characterized by an ability to take in calories and put on weight can be treated by THC. Some doctors prescribe synthetic THC pills (Marinol).

But Super-Woman is correct in noting that the type of anorexia that we often think of first under that label has much more to do with what is eating at the mind of the individual than what the individual is or is not eating.

So the other psychoactive ingredients of cannabis may or may not be an effective treatment -- wouldn't it be kind if medical science were actually allowed to study the possibility?

Cancer hosts/chemotherapy patients often cannot hold food down/are not hungry...marijuana helps them get hungry/keep food down.

I thought about that too, because sometimes marinol (synthetic THC) is given to chemo and aids patients as an appetite stimulant, so why not give it to people with anorexia?

But wouldn't an anorexic person just not want to eat or take the pill? The munchies can suck, but if you are so willing to starve yourself when not high, I doubt it would do much.

I use MJ to keep up my appetite when I'm real depressed. I'm 5'4 and like to weigh around 120lbs. If I get too low, I've got a great excuse to smoke and eat all the chocolate I want. Other chicks can eat their heart out!! But I'd be willing to quit if my depression would ever go away. Not smoking, but smoking to eat!

Stress anxiety and/or depression induced anorexia is very well treated by the application of THC. Since Marinol pills are now more available to be prescribed by doctors for a variety of ailments, not just for AIDS wasting disease and effects of chemotherapy, you might think of having your doctor write you a prescription.

But you smoke marijuana and that is effective you say? Yes it is...

How convenient that you have a prescripotion for a product with THC so you have an explaination why your body has THC in it then, don't you?

From personal experience I can say yes,it is a cure....

Obviously it wont work for all people,but for me it did..

Before I was a daily smoker,I weighed 20-40 pounds underweight.Freshman year I was 82-95 pounds.Right now Im supposed to be a Junior going to Senior and I weigh 120-140 pounds,and Im very happy...Im getting a little self concious on the weight cuz 139 is the most Ive ever weighed,but no one considers me fat.I think Im fat and chubby,but people still call me "small and scrawny"...Anyway,I wouldnt eat cuz I didnt want to,and when I tried I wasnt hungry,or couldnt keep it down...Its been going on 2-3 years and I havnt really had a problem until the last 2 months,but I either have a bleeding ulcer or gulstones or both,im going to the doctor for a ultra sound to be done so they can see my stomach...Anyway,I can say with all my heart marijuana saved my life in many ways,appetite is just one...
