Question Dangers/Benefits of Asthma inhaler

I was wondering if there are any dangers or benefits of using an asthma inhaler before smoking? I have asthma so i need to use my inhaler at times...just wanted to make sure I wasn't putting myself in danger if I did it b/f smoking...and i supose if there are any benefits that'd be pretty cool. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

As far as i know, marijuana (when smoked anyways) apparantly opens up your bronchial tubes. I'm not sure if this is temporary or not.. but it helps me anyways (i have mild asthma).
As for using the inhaler, inhalers are actually steriods, and therefore another drug
I'm not sure how good it is on mixing it.. I havn't used an inhaler before smoking really ever..
Have you tried not using it before smoking? I wonder if perhaps the marijuana would make it easier to breath after smoking it.. but be sure to have your inhaler available, just in case of course.

i've never used my inhaler b/f smoking, but it seems that lately i've had to use my inhaler more often so i wanted to know if I needed to use my inhaler and did so and then happened to go smoke, would it be dangerous?

THC is a bronchial dilator ...

However the smoke can irritate the bronchii and stimulate a cough reflex which in some people can trigger an asthmatic attack.

The best situation is if you inhaled marijuana through a vapourizer.

BUt my suggestion if you wish to continue using marijuana is to ALWAYS have your inhaler on hand in case of an attack, don't "hot box" or "clam box" where you are in an overly smokey area and and be sure to be especially careful about smoking when you have a respiratory ailment (chest cold) as would be more prone by bronchial irritation to suffer more serious complications such as bronchitis or pneumonia.

I'm sure you already know the imprtance of drinking plenty of water and keeping a humidifier in your room to stay well hydrated.

Toke responsibly!

This post is not Marijuana related, but I hope it isn't deleted as many inhaler users will read this thread.
The Times and New Scientist both published articles highlighting the increase of deaths amongst inhaler users. Inhalers use synthetic steroids, which means there is a "mirror image" molecule as well as the desired steroid molecule. This mirror image molecule was thought to be inert, but it is now known to increase asthma symptoms when used in high doses. To make matters worse, the desired steroid molecule stops "working" in high doses.
In practical terms, this means an asthma attack that "won't go away" can be made much, much worse by heavy use of the inhaler.

Taking it one step further the British Pharmeceutical COmpnay GW Pharaeceuticals in May of this year authorized testing on THC/cannabis sublingual and inhalant asthma medication that will be starting trials this summer I beleive.

Check out the NEWS on the Home Page of marijuana.com for the full story, should be up within 12 hours.
