| Hello! I was hoping to acquire some information regarding Marijuana for medicinal purposes in the state of Washington. I have had a lot of stomach problems ever since I was in junior high. My family has a history of digestive problems and illnesses, and I am no different. In high school I began to use Marijuana and it seemed to ease my nausea. My first question is if my theory is legitimate.. can smoking Marijuana ease stomach pains? Or was I just experiencing something like a placebo effect? I have since stopped using the substance as it is controlled and illegal for me to possess, but it would be very very very nice for me to be able to smoke when my stomach is acting up and be comfortable doing it. Is it possible to obtain a prescription for Marijuana in the state of Washington and what steps can I take to try and obtain one? Thanks a lot, all help is much appreciated! |

| The two things for which marijuana is most often recommended by physicians are chronic pain and nausea, so you can be pretty sure that your results are not imaginary. It is also often recommended for Chron's Disease and irritable bowel syndrome. Washington law permits it to be recommended for any condition producing nausea that can't be cured by other methods. You can get a copy of the Washington Medical Marijuana Factsheet here.
