| Stoopid, i came on cheaptalk today more or less to ask a very similar question. I have been on zoloft for a year or two now, and have been smoking since i was about 11. So i've been up down and all around the zoloft-marijuana defficiency issues. Last night i had an anxiety attack, the first in a really long time. Things have been pretty stable, but ive learned that usually when there is an eerily long period of stability you better belive its all about to crash down. And it did. First off, before you get into zoloft remember that it is addictive. I know people will debate me on this, but from all the evidence ive had thats the conclusion ive come to. And most people who've been on zoloft will agree. Last night i had been off zoloft for a couple days, just forgot to take it, and my marijuana use has increased in the past couple weeks, i went from a steady schedual of around twice a day (sometimes a lot more) to about double that. I do belive that heavy marijuana use in some cases can lead to a heavier depression, although i consider weed relatively harmless. But it does slow down the heart rate, depress oxygen flow, etc. , and i do belive it has some effects of depression and anger on some people. But ive also been using heavily for many years, and i know exactly what you are talking about that it lost the flame. Hell, there have been 7 million posts in this very forum about it. Any pothead will tell you that it's just not the same as your first couple times. The generally accepted answer to this is to a: smoke more or the better solution b: stop smoking for a little while and then do it again. If you stop for long enough it can seem like the first time again. And you'll act every bit as stoopid. -real | |

| What exactly is Anxiety.. For me, my symptoms are as follows. Not Knowing what to say Having a Hard Time Saying what i want to say Just feeling very damn uncomfortable and want to leave Also i would be very quiet. And not say a thing for a long long time. Now i get this occasionaly, about 1-2 times a week, and usually it happens after i smoke. Also it happens when i am around alot of people, only if i don't know them. I find when i am around my freinds i usually never get these anxiety attacks. Also, i need a fast, discreet way of getting diagnosed for this, i don't think the family doctor thing will work. |

| Howdy!! Anxiety has many different symptoms. I think everyone here has pretty much covered the bases. Believe me, you won't tell the doctor anything he/she hasn't heard before. Just be honest, cover all your symptoms, what makes them better or worse.. Ask around as to who your friends like. Use good judgement.. And then call the office for an appointment. ~~hb | |

| THanks hillbilly, and everyone that has helped. I do want to ask around for help, but i am still trying to keep it discreet. I just don't want everyone to know i have depression, axiety, and a severe case of ADD(i take over 3x the normal dosage of methalypheninesp?), and it still dosn't help that much)!.. But it's cool to say it online, cause nobody knows me in RL ![]() Man i am just a basketcase! |

| I have the same problem. I move a lot so it's hard to meet good people who you can get close too. Whenever I'm stoned around a bunch of people I get all self conscious and stuff. When I'm really stoned I get really stupid and splurt some pretty shallow thoughts, like, "dude, that would be funny if they made a book of all the jokes you could write on a postcard. Like, hey over there in texas -insert joke about Bush-" Haw Haw. What helps is to not get stupid stoned. Some strains may be too powerful and make you stupid...I'd stay away from those. So what I recomend is to develop your relationships so maybe you can eliminate the self consciousness. I know where your at, it sucks. By the way I've got depression and ADD, too.

| Stoopid, I am on the same boat as you are, or was. In certain situations I wouldn't know what to say and I would feel uncomfortable. I have not done much research on the topic just yet, but what I have been doing lately seems to solve the problem. Basically I changed my outlook on things. I used to worry so much about what other people thought, how I dressed, the way I looked, and my "image". I am still not completely comfortable in some situations, but I am getting better. I don't worry as much about all of these things anymore... how my image is going to look.. etc. I haven't had any attacks(I'm not sure if they should be classified as attacks... but somewhere along those lines) for a while now and I think in much more positive terms. I am somewhat happier and hopefully I can stay this way. I do not know much about expiriences with anxiety so I can't verify that you are feeling the same things I did( about image, etc)... however my advice to you is to change your outlook a little bit... I wouldn't just rush in and expect a perscribed medicine to do the trick, or for someone else to solve your problem for you. One last point(this is tied with the image thing)... not sure if this is going to help but I have also stopped being so analytical towards myself(does that make sense?). Peace |

| Here's a link you might want to check out when you have the time: http://www.socialphobia.org/ It has some information and a description of what social phobia/anxiety is. Hope this helps you out a little. | |
