My friend has recently grown some pot - it's dark green, quite crumbly, and 'seems' like schwag - but its effects are actually quite pleasant.

The problem is no matter how much he grinds it up - even if its almost powder-like - it still seems to be full of seeds. I know that normally seeds are really easy to take out because they're big, solid, and shiny - but the seeds in this pot seem to be very small. I say that there are seeds, in fact, only because as he smokes it, it crackles as if there were seeds inside - I would say there are even as much as 6 or 7 'pops' per joint - even though the seeds are impossible to see. When it does burst, the taste is very, very harsh and the effect is unpleasant just like smoking a seed..

could it be something other than seeds? is there any other way to tell based on looking at the pot, which looks homogenous, or using some other method?

would be greatly appreciated because he's very disappointed and annoyed by this..

Guessing from experience here...Probably was harvested early and so the seeds didn't firm up. Still pops and tastes like crap though.

Don't know of any way to find out other than looking through the pot and finding the seed pods, if visible.

If it pops like a seed, taste like a seed.....it's probably a duck. Just kidding.

Like Plains said I would guess immature seeds from an early harvest. It was common in NNY until started using grow lights early and then transplanted outside when the weather was good. Sometimes they would be so small you couldn't hardly find them. We would just smoke it anyway, it didn't cost anything but time. As long as it serves the purpose what the hell. Try to do better next time. We call it Rice Crispy pot or Snap, Crackle,Pot...
