If you're talking about the commercially available THC capsules (Marinol), they're prescribed by a doctor and available at the pharmacy. If you don't have good prescription drug insurance, they're terribly expensive, like $60 a day.

There are direction on this site for making capsules of ground-up weed. You buy empty gelatin capsules and fill them up yourself.

If your mom is experiencing nausea from chemotherapy, pills or food might not be the best idea. You might consider getting a vaporizer, a device that extracts the THC from the weed by heating it but not burning it. You can inhale the vapor even if you can't keep anything in your stomach. Once she gets started on the marijuana it is likely that the nausea will be greatly reduced.
