| Ok, without going into lots of details I was hit by a car a month ago and suffered multiple fractures to my tibia/fibia, two fo them being compound fractues (bone came out the skin) and therefore i had to have MAJOR skin graphing done. I was warned multiple times about the dangers of smoking cigarettes as they will restrict blood flow and would be very detrimental to the healing of the skin graphs. I was wondering if anyone could help me out by educating me of any dangers marijuana might pose on this type of injury. I just got out of the hospital a few days ago and would like to smoke, but im not willing to put my leg at any kind of risk. PLEASE someone help me out!!! I will love you forever and a day, I promise!!! Alsp, im an oldie around these parts so I know the importance of searching, however nothing turned up after i did a search. Thanks!!! ![]()

| Research continues to show up the vast differences between smoking cigarettes and smoking marihuana, with marihuana not showing even remotely the deleterious effects that tobacco does. I've not ever heard of any adverse issues specific to marihuana and skin grafts. If it were me I would use a vaporizer instead. You therefore avoid possible complications specific to combusted material. I use a Volcano and love it. FYI - below is from a 2003 study by California NORML and MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) with support from a grant from the MPP (Marijuana Policy Project). "The vapors from the Volcano were found to consist overwhelmingly of THC, the major active component in marijuana, whereas the combusted smoke contained over 100 other chemicals, including several polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), carcinogenic toxins that are common in tobacco smoke. The respiratory hazards of marijuana and tobacco smoke are due to toxic byproducts of combustion, not the active ingredients in the plant, known as cannabinoids." Good luck to you... .
