| Howdy Techno! Well, Mono is an infectious process, sometimes lasting months, yup... I said months. Smoking marijuana should not worsen your condition. Just try to take small tokes so you aren't coughing and irritating your throat. DONT smoke with anyone! Mono is very contagious. Benefits: From personal experience, and medical knowledge (which I am glad is not in question) A few symptoms of mono are: lethargy, restlessness, weakness, headache, muscle tension/pain, loss of appetite, low energy levels. I would say that cannabis will help many of these symptoms. Use caution if you are already unsteady on your feet, or if you get dizzy when you stand up, marijuana could make these symptoms worse. Take your medicine, and keep well hydrated with fruit juices and/or sports drinks. Hope this helps and you get better soon!! ~~hb | |

| I recently had pretty severe mono and my doctor was amazed at how bad it was. When I've been sick in the past, weed would make me feel normal and even let me forget that I was sick sometimes. When I was feeling extremely shi*ty with the mono, I gave some weed a try, even though I didn't that anything would be able to make me feel better. It was like a miracle... at some points, I even forgot that I had the mono. It cured the symptoms very well... i also think it made the mono go away faster. later | |

| Jr. Member | Yep, I have all of the symptoms, the strep test came back negitive, and I feel extreamly ****ty. This has been going on for a solid week. I go in for a blood test tomorrow, anyone know how long it takes for the test to come back? I was worried about not being able to smoke as I have like no appite and I'm in some serious pain. Peace.

| New Member | coincidently i was looking on more info about mono and i stumbled across this forum. a few weeks ago i think on the 3rd of march me a few friends of mine decided after our classes we would toke up. took a few hit from the bowl then later rolled up a nice blunt. after the day was done came home played some cod4 then went to bed, woke up the next morning with over swollen glands, sore throat. went to the doctors and tested negative for strep, happy about that. so i got prescribed on amoxicillin to get rid of the infection that was causing my throat to swell then a week goes by, turns out i find my self getting a rash, apparently I just discovered im allergic to amoxicillin and all other types of penicillin. so today i just get back from the doctors did some blood work and i find out i have mono. moral of the story is be careful who you smoke with, you might end up with mono P.S. im very itchy ![]() |

| New Member | I actually just found out I had mono and was debating the same thing, "Will smoking a joint make me feel better, or should I abstain?" Unsure, I decided to google my query and came across this forum. Seeing as there were mixed opinions on the subject I decided to be the guinea pig and test things out. What did I discover? It IS possible to smoke with mono, you don't necessarily need to bake yourself some special food. If you toke lightly and take drinks of water (if you can) in between then it's possible to get high from a pipe or joint without irritating your throat. In fact, I personally think it may even be better to smoke it because it's actually quite painful for me to swallow food. That being said, the weed definitely relieved me from a number of unwanted symptoms. I still feel fatigued but my head doesn't hurt as much and I don't seem to notice the pain in my throat. |
