To whom it may concern,
Anyone here ever take, or are currently taking, Marinol?

Just wondering what the side affects of it are. Also what are the similarities of that and actual MJ?

hey! Marinol is synthesized marijuana, it comes in pill form, its only chemical in it is THC, the main active chemical in regular marijuan, marijuana is diferrent beause it has many other chemicals that effect the brain to get you high, don't waste your time with marinol, it is probably more expensive then he nice natural bud.

THC is the major cannabinoid in marijuana, and other cannabinoids produce different effects, in conjunction with THC. THC is what gets you high. Marinol is synethetic THC and currently available at a maximum of a 10mg dose, which is hardly enough to produce a "high" and is aimed at increasing appetite in a subtle manner. An overdose of Marinol includes "side effects" such as euphoria, drowsiness, dry mouth, heightened sensory awareness, and so on.

I haven't any firsthand experience with Marinol myself. However, I did have a friend years ago who had a prescription for it for AIDS (which eventually killed him).

He got little or no relief from Marinol. Instead, he smoked REAL marijuana, and DID get relief from nausea and had a big appetite increase.

He told me that Marinol was "crap" and was ineffective.

Yes, he did tell me that Marinol did not produce a "buzz" or "high" like real mj.

That's my two-cents worth…
