| I didn't know where else to post this and I'm a first-time user to this site, so I put it here since it seemed most logical. Anyway, last night I smoked a joint. I'm an anti-depressant user, and from what I hear that makes weed hit stronger. Well, I didn't have any rolling papers, so I used notebook paper and taped it shut. It hit pretty hard and worked, but I'm wondering if it might have worked too well? While I was high, I was just really nervous. I had done weed before and it normally relaxes me. This time it just really flipped me out and made me nervous. I'm still not against weed, but I was wondering if anybody else could empathize? Is getting nervous like that normal? I guess the combination of a "non-standard" rolling paper and medicine might have made it worse? Like I said, it just really flipped me out. | |

| Smoking mj can induce many diffirent feelings after smoking. If you are nervous or paranoid it can sometimes relax you and it can also sometimes have the contrasting effect and make you feel anxious and nervous (like you felt last night). The best thing I find when I'm not enjoying a high is to put on your favourite music and lie down for a while. This mellows me out and I can resume enjoying my high. I would say about 1 in 40 highs for me I trip out to the point where I don't enjoy it. You just gotta find a way to relax, and remember marijuana will never harm you, and is impossible to overdose on. As for smoking regular paper, I don't recommend that as it can be heavy on your lungs. Either purchase a pipe for those times papers run out or keep a stash of papers for those important times. | It happens sometimes... just wait till you see someone REALLY flip on weed! My roommate his first time he was already liquored up pretty well, he smoked way more his first time than I ever did for a while, and well he flipped. It gives ya a lot to think about when ya see someone who's never gone off the deep end like that before, cowering in the corner sayin there are Demons in the carpet. Not suprisingly, he hasn't smoked again since. So don't feel too bad. ![]() I myself have smoked myself into serious paranoia, the first time I got REALLY stoned I thought my heart was gunna pop like a balloon, I was about ready to beg someone to take me to the hospital! If I think I'm going to have a nervous high, I try to get a small bit of liquor in me to calm down a bit(though I don't know personally how well that mixes with anti-deps)and get into an environment I feel comfortable in.. oh and get somewhere warm and drink some water to keep away that nasty paranoia cotton mouth. Thats my suggestion anyway! Good luck. | |

| Jr. Member | Paranoia and anxiety attacks are quite common, although mostly with inexperienced smokers. If you look around, I remember there was a thread going about a fortnight ago where a beginner was looking for advice - there were plenty of good tips given. The main thing is just to make sure that you're relaxed, that the setting is right. (i.e., no parents due home, that sort of thing ) Often the anxiety is to do with feeling you're about to be busted by parents/cops etc. Also, if you start to feel a bit more stoned than you intended, or a bit ill, remember that in 20 mins you'll be fine. Then just relax. Nobody has ever overdosed from MJ, so there's really nothing to worry about, unless you find that you're flying a plane, or that aliens have abducted you. ![]() As for anti-depressants, I wouldn't know, but definitely stay away from alcohol... not good for depression. (*Trust me* ).Incidentally, Putz_128, I remember once being attacked by demons that came out of the carpet. (Well, I'm told I was calling them "hell-demons", and I was drunk, not stoned). Actually it was my friends trying to pick me off the floor and carry me out of the room. That was just over a year ago, and I've never touched alcohol since. ![]()

| J-Huffer,a bit of anxiety from time to time ,is common with all marijuana users. it happens with me under unfamiliar circumstances.I do know from my own experience that marijuana doesn't mix well with other drugs. If you are under a physicians care with the anti-deps.it is best that you leave all other drugs alone.!Especially those that can have an adverse effect on the treatment you're going through. Once again!Welcome to Marijuana.com ![]() B.suede
