| I've been smoking marijuana for about 1.3 years now...so far no problems whatsoever, except for a slightly muddy memory during heavy periods of use...but now I've encountered a rather nasty problem, and I really would like some help.... I've gone through a lot of different schedules of weed use in my 1.3 years of using it, and have gone for up to a month or so at a time without using it, no problem. Well, recently I was forced to go through a 3 week break, and when the break was over, I indulged heavily in weed...at least by my standards. Usually I smoke maybe 1.5-4 grams a week...but this last week I smoked 9 grams in a matter of 5 days. When my stash ran out (yesterday being my first day sober), I noticed a plethora of really nasty symptoms...extremely reduced pleasure, mild depression, and, most noticably...NO APPETITE! I completely lost my appetite. COMPLETELY. I've never felt anything like this before, especially not from weed (no I dont do any other drugs at this point in time)...its kinda scary, but more than anything else its just a really big pain ( Im sure its temprorary and I'm worred about my long term health or anything.) I constantly feel like flu-like symptoms...only slightly more subtle. I'm getting chills and my stomach is really upset, and I'm having trouble falling asleep. I know "withdrawals" sounds overly dramatic and thats not what I'm going for at all - but I'm almost 100% sure that what I'm feeling is related to weed. I know what you're thinking, maybe I'm just actually sick, but a quick look at the reported withdrawals on erowid confirms everything I'm feeling...plus, I'm someone who tends to sleep a LOT and have a HUGE appetite, so I know somethings going on... Anyway I'm sure this will pass in a matter of days, but until then, If anyone could give me some advice it woudl be much appreciated...I'm sure some of you have gone through something like this ![]() | |

| and thats why i'm gonna try and score some herb today ![]() the only withdrawal symptom i ever get is loss of appetite, it really sucks because i will be sitting there, my stomach feeling empty, aching for food, but as soon as i start eating, i dont feel hungry anymore.....to sum it all up, unless i've smoked sometime during the day, i can't finsish any meal i try to. all my friends complain about not being able to sleep at night unless they have smoked, never happens to me though, but you aren't alone

| Although I have not smoked as much as you have, I always feel an intense need for weed whenever my stash runs out, or I've hung out with someone for a few days and smoked a lot of it. After about 2 days, the need decreases again when I realize I'm doing fine without it. I honestly think you'll be able to overcome it, it just might take a bit longer, maybe a week, to get over being sober after smoking such a large amount of weed. Make sure you have things to keep you busy though, take walks, play some video games, hang out with some non-smoker friends (if you have them), go to movies... It's in times of boredom that you will find yourself thinking a lot about weed. If you're doing other things, and, more importantly, having fun, you'll be able to beat your craving, and let YOU decide when you want to smoke next, not your psychological need. |

| I haven't been smoking heavily for the past few weeks, but I can totally relate to the sleep thing. In the winter basically all I did was smoke. I was smoking about a 1/4 a week, and when I ran dry and couldn't find anything, I would just expect to be up all night. It really sucked. |

| Yes! Sleep and eating are the first things that are affected in my life when I stop smoking weed...its awful! I am a little person and with no appetite - I can lose like five pounds in two days... The sleep thing is not as big a problem....take Melatonin before you go to bed and you will sleep through the night!! Much love, Di |

| hey i know where you are coming from. best way to overcome is using the power of your mind. try doing other things to take your mind off the chronic and after a while you will feel better |
