| do u think that marijuana smoking keeps u thin? i know ciggs do that and i'm trying to gain weight so i'm just wondering, how it effects ur metabolism and such. u would think that smoking would lower ur metabolism but when ever i puff down a huge joint my heart rate starts going pretty fast beleive it or not.

| marijuana will make you gain weight man cause it makes you preety lazy. your muscles relax so you rather sit on your couch then excercise. and of course the munchies. i dont know where you heard about cigarettes makin people skinny, i heard that was just a myth and a lie by the ciggarette companies to sell them. but that is off topic so i better shut up.

| I'm not sure. I recall reading somewhere that (at least heavy) ganja smokers had a lower BMI then non-smokers. Don't recall where I read it, sample size, or anything that makes this even remotely verifiable. |

| yea i don't wanna get offtopic but im just trying to say the nicotene is a stimulant. and certain kinds of marijuana are a stimulant/hallucinogen right? i mean i think the depressent qualities come from smoking it. try eating a huge brownie and try to just 'sleep' it off. it didnt work for me and it hink thc is a pretty powerful chemical. it induces a much more trippy high then smoking. ive had certain stains where i smoke a bowl and actually get up and start cleaning my room or get extremely motivated to do **** that i normally wouldn;t do. hmm im not sure ![]() |

| Depends on your metabolism, if your like me, you can eat munchies all day and its like I have a tube going straight to my ass, I don't get fat. Some people gain a half pound from a bottle of water and a cookie. marijuna increases your heart rate, i'm not sure if that would help to burn though.

| I don't know about gaining weight simply from smoking. It's what you do that makes the difference. I've smoked more in the past year than ever, but because I keep active (surfing, and lots of walking), and eat pretty good (like eat some carrots and celery and good stuff when you get the munchies instead of like pizza and cookies and soda and brownies and...), I've lost a LOT of weight since last year. Smoking isn't your whole life, or shouldn't be, me thinks, but i don't think it means you'll get fat just from smoking soe herb now and again.

| You can gain weight after using marijuana for a while, if you eat large portions with the munchies and don't exercize. Then again, you might find it hard to eat without being high durring a dry period. Mix that in with your metablolism, and just about everyone is going to be different. Tobacco is a stimulant that speeds up your metabolism. It's easy to exchange food and tobacco when changing your diet because of the need to so something with your hands and mouth. When quitting, you get people who slow their metabolism and eat more than usual to replace the habit of smoking. A lot of people gain weight when they quit smoking tobacco. Just my $0.02. ![]()
