| Hello everyone, maybe 4 mons ago I was hanging around my house playing halo and smoking some real good dank. I maybe smoked a bowl and 1/2 and was feeling fine, I went to put my peice away when all of a sudden I started to feel fluttered with pain, heart burn and PANIC. Since that day every time I go to smoke I think I am going to have a another one, 5 out of 10 times when I smoke I get a panic attack.I would like to point out that I dont smoke alot, maybe 3 to 4 bowls a day speratically. I have tryed to stop and tryed to smoke less, nothing is working only not smoking is making me not have panic. I would like to mention that sometimes when I dont smoke and just finish eating I get the same feelings. If anyone has advice or is going through the same thing PLEASE respond Thank you,David420 | |

| The weed is most likely breinging up some negative feelings. When a panic attack starts, try medtitating. Its saved me from a few bad trips.

| Do this: Sit down, put your head between your knees, and close your eyes. Then just tell yourself that everything is awesome and you're just tripping out. Do this untill you feel calm.

| Sounds like you could have IBS. Do you sometimes find yourself having heartburn, panic attacks, racing heart, or bloated stomach after eating but not smoking? These are all symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It sounds nasty, but a fairly large percentage of Americans suffer from this disorder. I was diagnosed with it earlier this summer, and I totally know what you mean. Medically speaking, there isn't much data on how people with IBS react to marijuana, except some people believe it provides good relief (which I agree with to a certain extent). Once I found the root of my panic problems, and was able to overcome the negative thinking, my highs over the last few months have just been getting better and better. Try not to get stuck on such things as 'whats wrong with me' or 'am I going to end up in the hospital' Just remind yourself no harm can come of smoking, and make sure you're in a positive mood before you engage in such activities. I have also found that smoking after large meals is VERY uncomfortable. Here's my little scenario: Early this summer (damn its fall now ) I would wake and bake a large J of dank (I'm talking REALLY good stuff usually), get nice and faded, and bum around the house till my mom came home. My high would be fine...I of course would be worried that I was going to freak out, but I could easily move these thoughts to the back of my head. On any given evening, I would go smoke with my friends at night. One time right after a large meal we rolled up a twamp between four of us, and reefed it up. On the way down to another friends house, I had horribly uncomfortable body load and a huge panic attack. I felt like jumping out of the car, and running down the road. Fortunately this feeling passed quickly, because I have been smoking for a long time, and it usually wears off pretty quickly. On the other hand, the same situation cold send a more novice smoker on a multiple-hour introspective nightmare, constantly getting stuck on negative thoughts.I'm really baked right now, so there may not be much orginization to what I have written, but I also have many other whacko theories on your stomach, and tripping. Maybe some time we can all sit down around a fire, drinking hash oil cocoa, and trade war stories Good luck. PS: Welcome to Marijuana.com |

I get panic attacks from smoking as well. Although, through mental conditioning, they appear less and less. I am VERY experienced with such experiences. It's a catch 22 situation really. It's hard to deal with sometimes....but you gotta remind yourself that worrying and getting scared of the panic attack itself worsens the situation. You guys...there IS a difference between a "bad trip" and a panic attack. I just wanna point that out. I'd say panic attacks are by far less desirable. Not to say tecniques wouldn't work to strighten you out in either situation. | |

| Yeah I get bad trips often, but after like 5 minutes of telling myself nobody has ever died from smoking weed, it helps to calm me down and I just listen to some good music. Dave Matthews is awesome when your high.... ~Bird |
