| Hi, I've been depressed for the last year, and within the last month it has gotton really severe. During all of this time I've been smoking alot of weed. While I know it isn't the cause or the source or an aid to the depression, I know it isn't helping either. I am a big advocate of weed, but now I am feeling like it is holding me back. Anyways, next week I am going to start taking anti-deps to try and get my life back on track and I am pretty set on not smoking weed anymore for two reasons. One, I think it would interefere with the effectiveness of the meds (atleast from what I've heard), and two because I am just plain tired of being high. I think alot of being tired of it has to do with the fact that I am severely depressed and I know I would enjoy it alot more if I were happy. And if these pills help, then I would probably want to smoke weed... but if it counteracts the meds - I dont want to smoke it. SO I guess my question is, will weed interfere with the effectiveness of the meds? In either case, I just bought a half ounce of dank, which sucks. So I am planning on handing it all out for free to some of my friends - which should make them very happy. Thanks for any replys ![]() |

| I don't want to risk him blaming the depression on weed, because I know for a fact that isn't even factored into the equation. I am just going to quit regardless. ![]() |

| Sorry you're so depressed babe. That is a major suck. However, I strongly doubt (as do you I gather) that smoking herb is the CAUSE of your depression. Usually with depression there is something underlying going on that CAUSES YOU to be depressed. We all get depressed hon, I myself take anti-deps too and I still smoke my w33d. Pot is like....my air. Infact, I'm more depressed when I DON'T have any marijuana. Hope ya get better fast! ![]() | |

| It is a good idea to quit the weed while going onto or changing anti depressants. Weed is a euphorant but short term. It is not understood completely how this occurs but part of the cannabinoid "circuitry" naturally occurring in the brain seems to create this euphoria. Since the anti depressants most often given are working over a longer period of time ~ your doctor may tell you not to expect results for 2 to 4 weeks once starting the drug regimen ~ the short term euphorant of getting stoned could be confusing in trying to confirm if this new regimen is effective or not. I can tell you that Mama has been told by many that once on the correct anti depressant, folks who smoke pot tend to run through their stashes much more slowly than before they found the proper medication (in some cases 2 or 3 medications together). Just be as patient as possible and don't expect miracles right away. Success is usually measured in baby steps. ...have a cookie ![]() Hugz, Mama Budz | |

| Thanks for the replies, and I know weed isn't the cause of my depression. No where near it, but it doesn't help things at all. I've been clean for 4 days and I feel alot better already. Like I said before, I am a big supporter of weed, but it does have its downsides. Mainly, I have grown tired of it... I've been smoking nearly everyday for the past 8 months and I just don't like it anymore. I already have more energy and sleep is better, and my mind is a little less cloudy. I know the meds won't take effect for around 4 weeks and I am prepared to endure that. Maybe in a few months, I will come back to the green herb, but for now.. it just isn't for me. Thanks for the replies and hopefully this will all turn out for the best ![]() ![]() |

| Hey Big, take care of your depression first. That's so much more important than puffin. Good luck! |
