| Hello. I have been taking the medication Adderall for about two years to treat my ADD. I have smoked many times in the past year but nothing has happened. I know I am not high and I feel normal. Some of my friends have told me it is because pot is a downer and Adderall is an upper and the two cancel eachother out. Is this true? If I stop taking Adderall will I finally be able to get high?! Please, someone help me because lately I have been feeling like I am immune to the effects of pot and it is pissing me off! | |

| There is a thread here from last year about this time... It is all about this subject and here is the bottom line from someone who was/is on it (he/she's no longer on the boards): "....And as for combining bud with the adderall, definately don't do that. it's no fun, believe me. It takes the adderall down and at the same time barely gets you stoned at all. just paranoid and edgy with a clenched jaw. uppers with downers, bad stuff...." MORE FROM MAMA: Adderall is a time released amphetamine (speed) usually prescribed for ADD/ADHD. Many times it is prescribed in a few doses a day. As with all amphetamines it is "habit forming" which is a nice way oif saying "addictive". DO NOT stop taking this medication without a doctor to control your de-toxification. It is a useful drug in the right circumstances and for the right people at the right times for the right problems. It is NOT to be played with. Marijuana is not a depressant or "downer" drug but it is a sleep inducer (soporific) and will effect the amphetamine. If you are taking Adderall, don't smoke marijuana...it is NOT a good thing... Wait until you are off Adderall for some time Have a cookie ![]() Mama Budz | |
