I have a cronic medical problem, that I would rather not get in to, but my doctor prescibes me the REAL DEAL (blue colored) pecrocet pain-killers for my condition.

I rarely take these, because I know that they can become VERY ADDICTING.

However when I flare-up I am in lots of pain, and the only thing that stops the pain is pecrocet, usually 2 tablets at one time.

Last night late I ate something that sometimes bother's my condition, well it did and I was in a lot of pain, but was afraid to take the pecrocet after already smoking 2 bowls and I was really stoned.

Is it safe to mix the two? I know you should never mix alochol with them, I makesure I never do, I was just wondering about marijuana though..

Any ideas?

in my expierence, weed and painkillers aren't a good idea, even though i took them recreationally. You wont die or anything just you may become very dizzy ..i did it and was puking..but the painkillers itself got me ****ed. so if u take painkillers and feel a high or somethin then thats not a good idea

Let me share my painkillers-and-weed story. It was the last weekend of summer before my senior year of high school, six years ago. On the friday I had all four wisdom teeth pulled. Usually two are pulled at a time, but the doctor told me to "get it over with." OK. So my mouth is all swollen, I'm in pain, and on friday night I hear my cousin is coming to visit. He lives far away and I hardly ever see him. So he comes saturday morning and of course wants to meet my friends, and of course they are smoking bud.

Now I don't remember, but I think I had percocet. (Is there another one that sounds similar? Percodan or something?) Anyway I got blazed, from some serious buds. Me and my cousin got ready to go, and I stood up. For 15 seconds I was conscious, looking around, but I was blind. Everything just browned out. I was leaving and walked right into this girl. Actually that part wasn't so bad...

Seriously, I'd avoid mixing them. Like technobudz said it makes you really dizzy, beyond intoxication, into a blur.

p.s. Why would anyone take painkillers for fun? Is it fun to be in a haze, out of control?

i take pain killers alot for various reasons sometimes for medical reasons but more often recreationally...if u kno the dopey feeling u get from percocet alone then if u add herb into the picture it intensifies that feeling. personally, i like that when im chillin out and just laying around but some people dont. u usually get the numby feeling, very tired, and the occasional upset stomach. theres really no bad reaction from mixing the two. some people like that feeling others don't. i've found that laying down kills the stomach pain so try that out.

I know people who do it all the time at shcool, without a problem. Is there ANY drug you can't mix weed with?

OK, you guys are right it's probably safe to mix them. But why would you? Marijuana gets you high. It makes things more interesting- seeing, hearing, touching things, etc. Painkillers just make you hazy and confused. Besides, The Dude wasn't talking about taking them recreationally. He actually has pain!

This gets into that whole question of: why do you do pot (or any drug)? Because you should smoke to get high and not to suppress your anxieties. I mean, part of smoking is relaxing, but you've got to deal with your sh*t sometime.

Also, let's not get this thread locked. If people start talking about the high they get from painkillers, the mods might shut it down.

Yes, please refrain from talking about pain killers alone. Doctors and/or nurses can tell you all about them.

I can't think of any drug that would be life-threatening if used as prescribed and mixed with a moderate amount of marijuana. BUT I can think of a ton of medicine that will intensify, sometimes negatively when mixed with pot.

A lot of the action potential depends on things like; body weight, tolerance (or lack thereof), metabolism, and nutrition. Cannabis alone is a great analgesic (pain killer) and Percocet is also a great analgesic. Watch for peak times...

Usually, 'pain pills' will peak an hour after ingestion. So I wouldn't smoke anything until I knew how it was going to affect me. And then I would suggest you just do little-bits take a hit, let it sink in for a few minutes until you get to where you want to be. Don't gobble a pill and then power smoke.. that's putting yourself in for danger of passing out, vomiting, blurred vision, etc....

And yes, don't drink alcohol with pain killers. Percocet contains Percodan and acetaminophen (Tylenol) hence the name Perco-Cet. Acetaminophen and alcohol are a bad combination, they leave a residue in the liver that can build up and is unable to be metabolized.
