Default Hearing problems - Medical marijuana?

With a hearing problem, could I get a medical marijuana card in California for "sensory enchantment" or something?

I'm just wondering.

I doubt many doctors prescribe something you smoke to enhance the health of your ears/nose/throat. This is just a speculation of course. Are you wanting to get a medical card, or cure your hearing problem? If wanting a card, Im sure many people here can suggest a "problem" that warrants a med card. Id say common back/neck pain would be the ticket.

Please dont try this. I suffer from Chronic Pain Syndrome so I speak from experience on this. Everytime someone fakes it, it just makes it harder for those who actually need it to obtain the medication they need.

Dont mean to try to jack the thread at all but:

How bad does your back pain have to be? I have a low-moderate case of scholeosis (curvature of the spine)...would that warrant a card? I dont live in a state with med marijuana but if I move someday...

Yeah I know what you mean. The other day I read an editorial from San Diego. A team of reporters went to a medical place to test out how much examination they'd be given before getting a marijuana card. All they did was complain of common pain, and they got the card without even a physical.

I mean I'm all for people beating the system to get weed but I'm against setting back the movement.

I've never really talked about my hearing problem here, I think. Basically, it's been "fixed" enough where I'm completely normal. Once you get to know me, you wouldn't even call me a "deaf kid" or anything. A lot of people can't even tell when they first meet me (even though I have a slight deaf "accent"). I once had a teacher who taught me a whole year and didn't find out until the last day. After reading this post, please don't consider me "non-normal" or anything. I mean, I don't even identify with the deaf community and I don't consider myself deaf, and no one else does either.

Basically I slowly went deaf from kindergarten to 4th grade. In fourth grade, I became a "profoundly hard of hearing person" which is basically deaf. I hear about 10%. But I got a cochlear implant. From 4th grade to 8th grade I did rehab, and relearned how to hear. All of my education was in public school, without any interpretors or any special help.

And now I have better hearing than most 40 year old people. In my left ear, the non-implanted one, my hearing is about 10% and dropping. I still use this ear to listen to bass.

Annnyway, every six months I have to get my implant reprogrammed because my left ear keeps on falling. Basically, the very small amount of hearing that I lost in my left ear over that 6 months must be "transfered" to my implant so I can continue hearing it.

When I get reprogrammed, I listen to the Beatles so that I can make sure that everything is still spot on and I can hear things just as well.

But anyway, getting this back to medical marijuana: I can thankfully hear harmony, which is something that many CI users can have a problem with. Once you're able to get harmony, music is not much of a problem. What I hear when I listen to music is almost exactly the same as what you guys hear. I still need lyric sheets to get all of the words though.

Anyway, I've realized that music and sound in general takes a big step back when I am not high. I am not just talking about how music generally sounds better when you're stoned. I mean that I can actually understand people better. Usually, if I've never encountered your voice before, I'll have to ask "what?" one or two times the first time we meet. When I'm stoned, I NEVER ask what. Also, when I'm sober, I have a pretty hard time understanding hispanic people. When I'm stoned, I'm MUCH better.

Is any of this worth pursuing in the medical marijuana fight?

I'm sure it would. It sounds like something that actually CAN get quite painful.

Id say you might as well try with back pain over hearing problems.

That's what I'm thinking too, I'm just wondering if there is any future in using marijuana for hearing problems.
