| Ok, i saw a news segment on this yesterday....the basic concept was that in california young teenagers are able to go to a "doctor" and complain of something as trivial as a simple headache, and without examination, be prescribed marijuana. Ok so who knows anything else on this? and whats the deal? i cant find the article online...but im curious...how could something like this happen? its ridiculous and the people prescribing this stuff to young kids are going to screw this up for the truly sick and dying. i want to hear opinions and more info on this if anyone has it. ![]() |

| I don't think that stuff was happening for teenagers, but maybe for young adults from 18-25 years old. I've heard of it happening, and it does make me upset that they're the reason why medical marijuana is under assault in California. But really, marijuana should be legal for EVERYONE and I have no problems with trying to screw the system and get some bombing weed. Nationwide, I don't think it's hurting the movement at all. New Mexico is about to become the 12th state, after almost NO controversy in passing it.

| no seriously though, it was on one of the national news channels, i believe it was Bill O'Reilly (last nights show)....and they said young teenagers, and gave examples of high school children, etc. i mean how does this happen? they specifically mentioned the fact that it was an outrage that they would prescribe to anyone under 18, plus the facts that they went for a simple headache rather than a terminal disease. not to mention that they said the doc didnt even examine the patient or keep records of the patients. |

| Something doesn't sound right bro. Dr's. have to keep records and Collectives have to keep records. Collectives also have to talk to the Dr. directly before you can become a member. And as far as I know they don't give recommendations to 17 and under. Now I have come across collectives that keep meticulous records and I've also been to collectives that are extremely lax and seem a bit shady (I stay away from these). So I don't know if you got bad info or misunderstood or what. Also I don't put a lot of faith in what Bill O'Reilly has to say. The king of spin, residing in the "No Spin Zone"

| when got mine you had to be over 18, and have two doctors approval, like a xray or some kind of proof from the doctors then they would recommend you try marijuana pay like 120$ for a perscription/card and there you go to the club to legally buy marijuana. |

| Yeah, it's pretty easy for anyone who really wants a medical marijuana card to get one. There's ads in newspapers all over the place referring to doctors that will basically give you the diagnosis you want. It's pretty sweet, a lot of my friends have them. I would get one, but its not really necessary. I don't really want my name in the system either. It's way easier and closer for me to just go through a dealer. |

| I'm actually pretty positive you dont have to be 18, but you need your parents to sign the form. |
