| BEEN SMOKING AROUND 7 MONTHS... The first few months maybe once or twice a week. I have a slight heart murmer that I had checked out about 6 years ago. At the time the doctor told me I was fine and healthy as an OX. Also during that time I took better care of myself. Within the last week or so, I have been having some chest/burning/heart pains. I am wondering if the smoking of POTENT weed 3 to 4 days a week for the last 5 months has done any DAMAGE to heart? Is it possible for it to happen so fast? I never smoke cigarettes or anything else. Let me know what you think. Right now I am sitting here with a burning sensation in my heart, going to get it checked out this coming Monday. The problem is my parents are concered and want to come with me. I am 26 years old. I want to tell the doctor that I have been smoking for 7 months, so it may help him decide what is wrong, but I WONT DARE TELL HIM in front of my parents. Regardless I think I have given up on weed, its been a fun 7 months, but I have enough health problems, I thought by smoking it could make me a bit more happier, and it does, but now that I am having chest pains non-stop I am going to give it up. Probably will have to resort to going on a anti-depressent, which is common for people to be on, that have my CRONIC medical problem. Disgusted and worried. |

| You described the feeling in your heart as a burning sensation© You also said it has only been in the last week or so© What have you been eating this last week? Any change in your diet over the last week? No matter how small© Heartburn is a common complaint, and can be quite frightening to those who have not had it before© I remember the first time i had it i thought I was having a heartattack© Fortunately it is nothing more than the gastric acid forcing its way back up through a sort of valve „from my understanding¤ at the bottom of the oesaphagus creating a burning sensation behind your heart- also known as indigestion© It is easily fixed with a few tablets or powder that you can get from a chemist© Although it is a sign that you have eaten too fast or too much of something that disagrees with you But dont trust me on this, I am no doctor, if you have a known heart condition then you should not take any risks at all© I doubt that 7 months of smoking weed would have had any marked effect on your health at all© |

| A few other things. Do you take any ther drugs? How long does the chest pain last, and where is it localized? Do you drink heavily? You might have GERD, try a few tums next time. But, as always, if you have any unresolved CP, please get it checked out. If you do, request these tests (instead of the usual once-over most er docs give to a 26yo with chest pain). A standard EKG, to check for electrical abnormalities. A CIP (cardiac injury profile) to check to see if there has been any damage to the cardiac muscle. A chest film, so check for any sort of congenital abnormalities. Be careful, and take care of yourself. | |
