Hi there folks :hello: This is my first post on Chealtalk, though I'm one of the mod team over in the Hempcultivation gardens ![]() I have been having bouts of Vertigo for almost a week, very similar to sea sickness, with extreme balance problems...I keep falling over, then I think it is due to a slight head cold, I've had some pressure in my sinuses and heard a squeek when performing the valsalver manouver (clearing your ears) as the pressure equalises between my sinuses and middle ear. My Doc has put me on Stemetil for a week, an antiemetic and antipsychotic agent. I've read the drug fact sheet Here but got confused by the drugs effects on brain chemestry. I'm concerned about the possible effects of continuing to smoke Marijuana whilst taking this drug. I presume that the drug will lesson the effects of the MJ, but is there a possibility of the MJ interfearing with the medication, negating it's effect or exasserbating it? I class myself as a heavy user. I've been somking for a long time, but growing my own (thanks to HC) for around 3 years. I've been growing Sativa dominent strains for 3 years, some very stong White Widow and Durbon Poison, so my tolerance is up there ![]() Any advice or opinion is welcome, Cheers, Hydrosan:smokin:

*POKE* Welcome to the other side of mj.com! "Concomitant administration of prochlorperazine and other anticholinergics, including atropine, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, phenothiazines, antihistamines, antidepressants, meperidine, and antiparkinsonian agents, can cause additive adverse effects such as oversedation, paralytic ileus, and severe constipation. " I'd recommend cutting out the marijuana until you have finished the medication and your symptoms are gone. Marijuana is a medication that does affect the same neurotransmitter (dopamine) as does Stemetil. I think it would best serve your health to avoid complicating your treatment with a potentially adverse drug interaction. I've never had White Widow but have always longed to try.... I'll take this week's supply off your hands Best of luck and I hope that you feel better!

Marijuana is generally well tolerated in combination with several medications; the average pill "cocktail" that chemo and AIDS patients take daily contains a number of MAOI's and analgesics; these are the same patients who benefit by using marijuana to control severe nausea and to stimulate appetite. Marijuana is not a mono amine oxidase inhibitor, and its most notable side effects are its ability to exacerbate drowsiness in combination with powerful narcotic analgesics. If smoking is causing irritation to your lungs or nasal mucosa, then give it a rest, or take it orally in a brownie or cookie If the combined effects on the psyche are uncomfortable when using marijuana with a drug that has a marked effect on neural chemistry, then simply discontinue using marijuana until you have finished the course of the medication. San; pm me for more personal details over at hc if you still have q's. I've been using mj in combination with prescription meds for quite awhile now, and the kaleidoscopic Arthur Brown Interdimensional gate is the only side effect I have encountered. ![]() OMM

The too many smilies monster is a bit keen over here eh, this is the fouth attempt. A new complaint, smilie censorship ![]() Thanks for the insight chaps. I think the dopermine blocking effect of the medication is evident in the diminished high, a distinct lack of euphoria compared to usual, more couch locky but, generally weaker high. No negative experiances, but I'll be laying off the smoke anyway. There's not much point chasing the high, it'd be like smoking shwag again my homegrown deserves better and I'm due a sabatical since I've not abstained for about a year.If you've not tried somthing from the widow family FreudPhilly, you should put it on your list of "stuff to do before I die" It might not be in many peoples top 10 smokes as the stone is very strong, euphoric with a surprisingly clear head, great to share, though not for noobs. I like it for a daytime smoke, I can still operate wearing the buzz, skipping around like a teenager. A good smoke for the ladies, considering todays date ![]() San.
