| I've been wondering for quite some time now, if marijuana is illegal due to the political war of legalization, or if the government truly believes that it is harmful to humans and society. What do you guys think?? |

| I think the reason it is illegal is because it could sway an election if you want to legalize pot. I don't think anyone in congress or someone running for president honestly believes that pot is bad for you... but those f'tards in the bible belt do....among other places of course ![]() |

| It is illegal because the gov't cannot make money from it. As for the medical part, big drug companies would rather we take their drugs so they can make their profits. It's all about money. They don't really care about sick people, or what they may have to say concerning medical marijuana.

I don't think the government really cares whether is harmful or not. Alcohol and smoking would be illegal if that was the case right along with McDonald's and ton of other guilty pleasures. It's my opinion that pot would be to difficult for the government to regulate and collect taxes off of. Unlike tabacco, people can just grow their own weed and it would cost to much money and man power to make sure people are paying taxes on the home grown stuff. As it is now the government is making far more profit on court cost and fees for being caught with the stuff then they could ever make in taxes. Not to mention the one's that "loose evidence" and sell it for their own profit. If it's ever legalized the government may even try to legalize the use but still make is illegal to grow it.
