Hey, guys, I gotta question that's bugging me like crazy. I'm 19 and I just recently started trying weed. I've only done it twice, but both times have been nightmarish experiences.

My short term memory started to break down, and it felt like I had spun around in circles 50 times. Needles of ice seemed to prick me all over, and it felt like I had a sharp chunk of ice in my chest. My head would throb in dizziness every time I closed my eyes, and I had trouble focusing my eyes on anything. I also felt like throwing up, which made moving around at all very difficult.

I was under the impression that being high was a pleasurable experience, so do you have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Or is is this simply my body's way of fighting back since it's not used to it?

Man, I could use any help I can get.

maybe you have really low tolerance so try to smoke a bit less and see what happens...and maybe your body needs to get used to the substance

Well, do you think it was mostly mental like paranoia, or do you think it was really something physically wrong with you. Because I know that the first few times I got really stoned I would flip out and give myself a panic attack which I would feel like my heart was going to explode and I felt like the room was spinning etc... All I have to say is try doing a little less untill you get used to the effects and it may take you a little while to adjust, it took me about a dozen sessions to calm down totally but in time it will be very pleasurable. Do you think this board would have this many members if it wasnt?

Dude, the SAME things happened to me the first time i got stoned (happened to be about 3 full hits off a gravity bong ) I had vision problems.. couldnt focus... got overly confused with simple tasks (took me 15 minutes to figure out how to put my bong away... to the point where i even wrote a list of "things to do while high to not get cought" (like put bong away, burn insense and ****)... i even got lost in my living room... and realized i was lying on the floor for about 15 minutes).

Just think of it as a "wow.. im high, lets find things to do" rather then "eww this sucks so bad"... keep a positive outlook while your high, and do things to keep your mind buisy. Just stick with it... after a while.. youl build up a tolerance.. and get used to it... and be able to just sit back and enjoy the stupid things you will do.

Kind of funny, I just get done reading a thread about how people CAN'T get high their first time smoking, then I read about this bizarre experience. I've never felt anything like that, and I'm considered to be a lightweight among my smoking peers, so I can't relate.

I'd try a different supplier before giving up.

My only suggestion is to not smoke so much. Take only one or two hits, and if that feels right stay with that amount till you feel like you can venture further.
