| Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol is responsible for most of the plants psychoactive effects. Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol is also psychoactive, but it is less powerful than D-9-THC, and much less abundant in the plant. Cannabinol is about 1/10 as powerful as D-9-THC. But researchers had to administer it intravenously to discover this. So chances are, when you smoke or eat marijuana, it's not really going to play a big role in terms of psychoactive effects in the big picture. Apparently, cannabidiol alone doesn't get you high (in the doses humans use I'm guessing). But when combined with D-9-THC, it can increase the D-9-THC euphoria. Interestingly, cannabinol can decrease the intensity of the D-9-THC high, but prolongs the high. Cannabichromene has mild to no psychoactive effects. Again, I doubt it's going to play a major role in terms of psychoactive effects in the big picture. Supposedly, D-9-THC and cannabidiol account for 95% of the active ingredients of marijuana. So with different strains, varying amounts of D-9-THC, D-8-THC, cannabinol, cannabidiol, and to a lesser extent cannabichromene, can yield different highs.

| Didn't you say something in another post about 11-OH-D9-THC? In eating? And to a lesser extent smoking? ----------------------------- Also...where do you know all this Cheeba? You always know the technical data..on everything. Your the smartest stoner I know. I'm obsessed with the plant. But I can never find good data to read.

| I'm guessing ManMulcahey's only talking about the ingredients in the plant. Since 11-OH-D-9-THC is created in your body, I left it out. ![]() |

| The first line can be found in a lot of places. Such as here for example. The second lines info can come from the above link and this place. The third and fourth line come from Understanding Marijuana: A New Look at the Scientific Evidence by Mitch Earleywine, pages 123-125. The fifth line comes from Marihuana Reconsidered by Lester Grinspoon (the newer one), pages 53-54. The sixth line comes from Understanding Marijuana: A New Look at the Scientific Evidence by Mitch Earleywine, page 123. The seventh, and final line, comes from me. ![]() |
