Or someone smoked too much and got anxious about not feeling ("normal") Or the paranoia kicks in from doing something illegal and you start to worry then your brain starts to rush forward and so on

( i have ptsd and use marijuana to stop my panic attacks)

Are you saying... people who smoke weed can get panic attacks?

I haven't got any yet? Any heavy smokers who never had ANY psycho issues?

Lots of things can influence a panic attack when you are stoned. I got my first one when I was fifteen. It felt like, well, to quote my favorite band Pink Floyd, that worms were eating into my brain. Yes, that would qualify as a definite buzzkill. Some factors include:

1. Indica or Sativa? Indica provides an 'up' high while Sativa gives one that mellow 'melt into the couch' buzz. You're more likely to get a panic attack from Indica.

2. Personality type? Type A personalities who are always going 1000 miles an hour, like myself, are more prone to a panic attack.

3. Environment? You're more likely to freak out when you're mega-toasted while walking through a crowded Wal-Mart then you would be if you'd kicked it at home with a few friends.

The bottom line is that regardless of what you do to avoid having one, the more panic attacks you have, the less they will affect you as your body and mind learn how to deal with it over time.

Psychosis, or loss of reality has been reported in heavy, heavy marijuana users in a study done in the Netherlands recently.

omg.
This happened to me, and I thought my weed was laced or something.

Obviously I just went over board with it. I was just starting, and me and some friends (who were much more experienced at the time) loaded my hookah with weed. I kept smoking, not really feeling much, when suddenly I got the most crazy headrush of all time. For two hours straight I thought I was doing everything I could to stay conscience. My heart was racing, I was pouring sweat, and I felt like I was going to pass out.

Since then, I have learned that I am in control, and whatever happens is in my mind. I am not going to actually pass out or die. I don't really think about it at all anymore, and that has made all the difference.

Default Panic the day after

My first panic attack was the day after coming home from a few days on a rock festival. Could cannabis induce an attack the day after? I had to much to drink the last night and had a toke that made me quite sick at midnight, panic at 4 pm the day after. I related the panic attack to the weed because I had never smoked nor paniced before.

Question Panic/Paranoia attack?

The other night I smoked some really nice weed that I bought directly from the grower. I was warned that it hit really hard, so I tried to be a little more conservative.
Here's the thing: I had never smoked anything from this grower before, and within 10 minutes of taking a large hit followed by a small one, I was having the most intense panic attack/paranoia anxiety I have ever felt in my life. It lasted for something like 30-40 minutes and I was so hysterical I had a hard time talking.
I've never had this reaction to weed before, and I SERIOUSLY hope it doesn't become a habit.
My question is: do those of you who have paranoia find that it depends on the type/strain of weed you are smoking, or on the mood/situation you are in when you smoke? I want to avoid ever feeling that awful again if I can help it.
Thanks in advance!

I have experienced similar things before. I find it comes down to my surroundings and state of mind. Being relaxed mentally and being comfortable in your setting can play a big role in any drug experience. I've actually learned to control it. I will sometimes feel my heart racing all of the sudden. I just have to relax and breathe easy. Maybe go into a different room or something to change it up so you can get a hold of yourself. Relax and take it slow.
