| Hello Everyone, I was wondering what you all thought. Especially mamabudz (cuz you know a lot of stuff). As you all know, I have depression. But I also have social anxiety and ADD. (Before I go on, if you don't think any of these things are chemically related, please do not post. I don't care about your advice to think better thoughts. Its a nice gesture, but I'm beyond that stage of ignorance when it comes to real disorders) Anyways, I've started a regime of taking 900 mg St. John's Wort at night, and twice during the day I'm taking 1000 mg l-tyrosine and 250 mg Rhodiola Rosea. The tyrosine is for focusing power, and the rhodiola is for anxiety. However, I do know that Marijuana has some great anti-depressant effects also. For me, it gives me the ability to really enjoy things in the world. Normally I can't do that. I know that this might change as the St. John's Wort kicks in, but I'm still not sure. I think the St. John's Wort, if its like any other SSRI, will just make me emotionally stable, but not necessarily happy. I guess I was wondering what would be a good way to take marijuana for depression. I mean I would like to make it a more consistent thing in my life. The problems I see: 1) Quality consistency: When you take any other anti-depressants, be it an herb or a pharmaceutical, you really think about quality. There's no way to get the same stuff everytime. And, some forms of marijuana are worse for you than others. I think I would do better on the strains with more THC, rather than CBD or the others. 2) Legality: obviously 3) money: damn its expense sometimes What do you all think? Is it even worth it to try to make it a routine thing in my life? I would want to get a vaporizer, because I'm a health nut. -Soar |

| There is a very good chance that mj will help your depression and S.A.D. As for the ADD, I couldn't say...but maybe. The vaporizer will help you keep the cost down, but when using mj as a med (as with any med) you must use it every day. How much??? Only you will be able to decide. I have an aunt that uses mmj for Depression and Fibromyalgia. She uses ~1.5oz per month and has no pain or nagging depression. She also smokes a j, so with a vaporizer you may use less. If it does help your depression, you will have to make yourself get out more often to shake your S.A.D. (but you already knew that). BTW: Welcome to the boards ![]()
