Ok...im essentially putting my life in your guys hands...i know this thread is old and i found it on google but i just went to doctor today, had to get bloodwork done to see if i gots the mono...and I got a throat swab o deal with strep throat...ok im on tylenol and peniscillen....Headache gone....fever gone....(while on tylenol) but all thats left is this super sore throat...swallowing water is now like the hardest task to accomplish (aside from ariving home from a hot-boxed adventure only to find your front door has 2 locks and you cant remember which one you just tried and 15 minutes later you go "OHHHH THAT ONE!!!" ) But yeahhhh im gonna blaze with a new bong and report back.

hey look, like the last guy i really need to know

i have strep throat and it is fucking killing me. advil is just not cutting it even by taking more than the recommended amount. i want to say this is the worst pain i've ever had,(besides 2 days ago before i went to the docter). i went to the ER monday morning at 6 am, got penecillin, and have been feeling a little better since. the onlly trouble is that i've run out of vicodine. i was on it for the past 2 days almost non stop to help the pain. (unoffically, not prescribed)

i have a small headache (reduced by the advil i asssume) and i feel a little dizzy. i can't get to sleep because i feel like my whole body hurts. i've had like 4-5 hours of sleep off and on (maybe an hour at a time) in the past like 36-48 hours. It is terriblily inefficient sleep.

i dont smoke very often, maybe once a week, twice if i get the chance.
i'm turning 19 in a month.

can someone with some advice please step forward and help me out. i would appriciate any credentials or information about yourself.

Where's the question? are you asking if it's a good idea to smoke with a fucked throat? are you asking if it will help with the pain?

It would work as a painkiller (I assume) somewhat, but I would think smoking with a sore throat would hurt. Plus, it's I don't think it's really a good of an idea to smoke pot while sick, a while ago I read this research article that said that pot tends to suppress the immune system to a degree (it wasn't one of those biased studies, it did say that marijuana would be very helpful for certain things such as: MS, and I forget the rest).

So if you're sick I wouldn't recommend marijuana, just call your doctor and tell the guy about how bad the pain is, and just use otc cough drops/syrup until then. Make sure to look at the package and get the kind with the most "active ingredient".
